Publisher's summary

The author of the best-selling Crazy Love pleads passionately for the church to live by the power of the forgotten God: the Holy Spirit. Calling Christians to more than just a better life, Chan says he wants to live a life unexplainable without the Holy Spirit, so dependent on the Spirit that, he says, "If he doesn't come through, I'm screwed." He offers vivid personal stories about how the church ought to help Christians discern the powerful gifts of the Spirit, rather than toning down radicals. Biographies of people "keeping in step with the Spirit" conclude each chapter.

Not a comprehensive study but intended for application, it consequently lacks depth of context in most Bible references. Ultimately, though, this serves Chan's aim to end ceaseless talk and follow God's lead to assist the poor, the abused, and anyone without hope. Chan himself has given all royalties from Crazy Love to a ministry to children trapped in sex trafficking, explaining that God said to him, "I want you to love them as your own children." Chan's voice is fresh, earthy, and fiery.

Asbolutely amazing

One of the best books I've read. Francis shares his heart about the condition of the American church, trying to do more and try harder by our own talents and willpower. Structuring church service in a neat, pretty package, that feels more akin to a production rather than an authentic move of God. I will be encouraging all my brothers and sisters in Christ to read this book because this is the wake up call we need, to go back to the church God intended us to be. The Holy Spirit moved mightily through Francis in this book.

Great Book

This was such a great book, it made me look inward and want the Holy Spirit to guide me through this world. I was saddened that it ended and was wanting the book to continue. It has open my will to hear God and want to sit and hear him, actually listen.

Great book, poor presentation

This is a great read. Francis, as usual, has focused on the true power of God, the Holy Spirit.
The reader barely pauses long enough for a breath. He barrels through each thought without giving the listener time to think about the concept that Francis is trying to get the reader to consider. This is unfortunate as it severely diminishes the thoughts and ideas that Francis is trying to convey.

The Holy Spirit never stops loving us

I know Francis Chan presents this teaching but I also know the Holy Spirit works through those like him to bring me closer to my God. Thank You Holy Father for reaching out to me through this message of your love for us all.

Buckle up

I thought this would teach about the Holy Spirit. It is so much more. This book will wake up the power of Holy Spirit in you and move you to live a life a love. I was barely crawling on my own strength in my walk. Now, I’m in the driver seat of a Ferrari and am ready to go boldly where God is taking me.
