Publisher's summary

After the longest winter of her life, Vivian is thrilled to have Ginny back at her side. But joy soon turns to shock when the group learns that not only is Hope Springs in contact with other survivors, but that the CDC is working on a vaccine. And Angus could be the last hope for the human race.

With an armed escort, the group sets out on a mission to get Angus to Atlanta. But the world proves to be more dangerous than the people of Hope Springs believed, and their lack of preparation ends in deadly results. Vivian knows they must get Angus to Atlanta if they want to save the human race, but it doesn't take long to discover that this might be the most dangerous journey they have ever made. With trouble around every corner and their losses piling up, the stakes are higher than ever before.

One of THE BEST stories out there.

This is truly one of the best stories out there. Be sure to check out her timeline for the books. There is a reading order and they all tie in together. It is masterful how she has created an entire world with all these books!

Make sure you read the last book “Angus” it finishes the story off perfectly!

Zombies,CDC, and fam- what more do you need?

Forgotten World (Broken World Series, Book 6) by Kate L. Mary and narrated by Hillary Huber kept my interest and makes me want more.

The group’s main focus is getting Angus to Atlanta and they hit quite a few bumps along the way. There’s a good amount of action in the second half, friendships and relationships continue to grow, the not-so-nice guy leading them to Atlanta (he wasn’t as bad as her usual villains, so I was a tad disappointed), loses, gains, and of course zombies! The story is told from Vivian’s POV, with her and Axl being the main focus, although the others come close.

The narrator, Hillary Huber, was good. Overall enjoyed it. I’d listen to her again.

I actually purchased this in error- I wanted to start from the beginning and make my way up to this one (oops!), but I was not disappointed in the long run. If you’ve listened to or read her Twisted World series, you will not have a problem starting with this one. I was able to keep up/recognize characters no problem and it’s nice to know the back stories of those I learned about in Twisted World. With that being said, I plan to start from the beginning as I feel I’ve missed a decent amount and character development (ex. when did Angus become nice/good? Where did he get bit?).

Overall good storytelling

I think this is book 6 in the broken world series. I didn’t read any of these, I listen to the audiobooks for this series, and I have enjoyed it overall.
In this book, the beginning, sees the group in Hope Springs, where they discover that John and Jenny are still alive. The Hope Springs group finds out that Angus is immune and immediately start making plans to transport him to Atlanta so that he can be helpful to the CDC with a vaccine.
So our group makes plans to travel to Atlanta, I was sad that Brady decided not to go with them and stayed in his home in the gated community. I liked his character.
Vivian, Axel, Angus, John, Jenny, Lila, and Al, and Parv all start out on the journey to Atlanta, with a jerk named Dax, who the hop Springs people have assigned to lead the travel.
He is a big dumb mean spirited, nasty dude who I feel like his character was built up and built up and then his removal was sort of anti-climactic.
They go through the usual trials and tribulations of travel across the zombie infested countryside, beloved members are lost.
I still find Vivian, very annoying, some of her inner dialogue is very repetitive and stupid.
There wasn’t a whole lot of zombie action, but what there was was good.
I know there are a couple of more books featuring Jim and Angus, but the end of this book, while presenting the resolution of their journey, somehow felt still like an incomplete story.
Even with her too stupid to live and annoying, female characters, I still like the way that Kate Mary writes, and I will go on to read other series in her catalog.
All of the narrators in the books, I have listened to broken world one through six have been just superb, excellent narrators that have brought characters to life.

VERY DISAPPOINTED ☹️

***SPOILER ALERT *** DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS BOOK!!!*******************
***I've stuck with this series from the beginning because I love the writing and the storyline, but book after book the number of popular (main) characters getting killed off was getting ridiculous. I am disappointed that she chose to kill off so many popular characters that it left me feeling like I did not want to read another one of her books. Especially at the end with Ginny and Angus...that just totally ruined the whole series for me. Oh, and the disappearance of Jim was never mentioned.
