About this listen

Who says a girl can't have it all?

I had my life and career all planned out. That was until I was betrayed by someone I trusted and my perfect opportunity was stolen from underneath my nose.

So here I am, back on Stoneyridge Ranch in Poplar Falls licking my wounds. I love being home with my family and friends, but I am determined to move past my anger and build my career. I have goals and plans too big for my hometown.

When Brandt Haralson, the new Vet in town, offered me a job, it was the perfect opportunity for me to plan my next move and get some experience. He’s brilliant, driven and sexy as sin, but he is also not interested in getting involved with anyone. I can learn a lot from him and I don’t have to worry about any romantic engagement.

You know what they say about the best laid plans. When an attraction builds to the point of boiling and walls start to come tumbling down, can I stick to my plan or will I discover that everything I ever wanted was right here after all?

It was so easy to fall for the veterinarian. Very easy.

This is my favorite Poplar Falls story yet. The tortured vet, Brandt, who lost his wife and is avoiding moving on but finds himself very attracted to,Bellamy.

The narrations were spot on, the characters coming to life exactly as they should!

Bellamy who’s searching for her dream job following graduation from college. She comes home to Poplar Falls, she feels temporarily until she gets her dream job in Denver, but winds up falling hard for the Doc. But Brandt is scared of everything Bellamy represents. She’s fiesty, fearless, and he’s especially frightened of a fresh start and new love. So he walks away but…….not for long.

I LOVE all of these characters and each book in this series gives us more joy, emotion, humor, and the BEST happily ever afters! Walker is back with his smart, flirtatious mouth and he’s even more charming now that he’s with Elle. Myer and Dallas are about to have a new member of the family arrive and the Lancaster aunts are back in full force. Sonia needed to dump her awful husband (oh come on, this had to happen!) and Sophie and Braxton are about to add a new baby to their household. The families are growing and it’s all such a wonderful read.

This series continues to captivate, with the very best group of family and friends and small town romance at its best.

The Perfect Story

I didn't know how much I needed their story until we had it. I love Amber Kelly so much, but her audios always have a hold on me. Tim and Stella had amazing chemistry and I felt like they embodied each character so perfectly.

Our MMC was a little broken and Tim did an amazing job at representing that pain through his story, but also by allowing us to recognize the character he was in previous books.

I loved every single second and cannot recommend enough.

Enjoyable listen!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4
Book 4 in the Popular Falls series gives us Bellamy and Brandt’s story. Overall, this was a sweet romance with low angst/drama. Brandt does have a tragic past and when he is with the guys sharing stories his and Braxton’s stories broke my heart. A slower burn with a friends to lovers and work place romance. The characters were all very likable but for me personally the story fell a little flat in places. I wanted to see more of their relationship and struggles but it was still a very enjoyable listen with some really good narrators.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

Fragile Hearts is my first time listening to an Amber Kelly story, but it won't be my last. This small-town, workplace, friends-to-lovers romance is part of the interconnected Poplar Falls series, but you can easily listen to it as a standalone.

Fragile Hearts is the most heartwarming story I have ever read. So many events in the book had me tearing up or smiling from happiness. It's fast-paced and constantly evolving, and it felt like I was a part of the story, and these characters were my friends.

Brandt's story was sad; he needed to overcome his past, but that's easier said than done.
Violet is a fantastic woman, so sweet and strong. I loved her relationship with her two best friends and how she fights for who she loves.
Brandt and Violet have a deep connection. The way they grew closer and formed a deep love was beautiful.
It wasn't as steamy as I usually read, but it didn't bother me. The few scenes there were, were sexy and well-written.
There were so many other things happening that kept me entertained.

Fragile Hearts is narrated by Tim Paige and Stella Bloom. They both have pleasant voices and are consistent in their narration. The narration certainly added to the story, making it more real.
The story is 6 hours 12 hours but super addictive. Once I started listening, I couldn't stop and finished it in less than 24 hours.

Thank you, Bluenose Audio, for gifting me this audio!

Super Cute Small Town Romance

This book starts off with a super cute prologue with the FMC, Bellamy, and her friends, then moves into Bellamy's college life and graduation. After graduation, she moves back home and now finds herself single. Wanting to put her college degree to use while trying to figure out her upcoming life plans, Bellamy gets a job at a local veterinarian's office, now owned by Brandt.

Bellamy and Brandt start to catch feelings for each other, but Brandt has some events in his background that he needs to realize Bellamy can help him with before they move forward. What will it take for the two of them to live out their happily ever after?

Tim Paige and Stella Bloom were great at bringing Bellamy and Brant to life. I felt that Stella's voice had the perfect western accent to it and you could really feel Tim Paige's emotion when he was sharing Brandt's tragedy.

This is book 4 in the series, and I haven't read or listened to any of the others and I don't feel like anything major was spoiled for me. I am weird though, and will read knowing spoilers and even jump around and read a series out of order.

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You're looking for a sweet small town listen with a little spice and some hurdles for the main characters to overcome.

This was a sweet, small town, friends to lovers romance ! My first book by Amber Kelly and it will not be my last !

This is a standalone book within the Poplar Falls Series that follow Brandt and Bellamy . Brandt is trying to let go of his past and start fresh as the new vet in town . He has such a big heart and only wants the very best for those he holds closest to him .

Bellamy is a girl who knows exactly what she wants . When things don’t go as planned she finds herself back home working on her families farm and as the town vet tech, all while trying to find what new path to take .

What a breath of fresh air their story was! Another great addition to an amazing series!

I loved that Brandt had so much heart in him that he picked a house rundown and broken and decided to restore it back into a home. He saw beauty in something forgotten. Enter Bellamy who sees Brandt, a man broken from his past and and she has so much love she gave freely to Brandt. She saw a life in someone who couldn’t see it in himself. Something so feel good about a home being restored at the same time as one of the characters is also being restored.

Bellamy were so gentle with and supportive of one another.

Loved Bellamy and Brandt

Fragile Hearts by Amber Kelly

Fragile Hearts is the 4th book in the Poplar Fall Series but can be read as a standalone.
I have fallen in love with this smalltown, forced proximity, work place, slow burn romance. It was so engaging that I didn’t want to put the book down.
Just when Bellamy though she was getting somewhere in life. She was blindsided. Hurt she returns home to try to pick up the pieces. She’s smart, sassy, loves fiercely, and fights for those she loves. She meets the town vet Brandt. Who for his own reasons is running from his past, and was closed off to life and love. They have this underlying push and pull, chemistry and banter. As they got closer, they became friends but are fighting it as they work together. We see their insecurities, we see them scared love, but we also see them fight for love. Loved seeing the previous characters again, loved the friendship updates. Great Read and listen. This is the first time that I hear an audio book narrated by Stella Bloom, but she did a great job with the character changes and narration. Tim Paige also was great kept me engaged and turning the pages.

Phenomenally good

Fragile Hearts by Amber Kelly

This is the fourth book on the poplar Falls Book and it didn’t disappoint. I loved their story is was so sweet and sad. Brandt is just going through the motions of life not feeling or really living. He is still mourning the great loss and love of his life that is until Bellamy. Bellamy is back home awaiting a very important call. When the call come in it’s not what she expected. Feeling betrayed she decided to make herself useful and help the new vet not knowing that would change her life. They have to overcome fears and loss to navigate to their happily ever after. It was a great book. I read and listened to these amazing narrators. I live that we get to hear both and kinda imagine what both characters would sound like while we read their story. I am a huge fan of this author and love that we are getting to read and now get the opportunity to listen to these amazing stories as we read along.
