Once there was a student who asked the master, "How can I become free of the world?" The reply: "Love the world and everything in it."
How do we handle this paradox? By allowing and accepting what is. This is the simple yet life-changing teaching Eckhart Tolle shares in Freedom from the World, a retreat with the best-selling author of The Power of Now.
Many people who have made it in the eyes of the world will be the first to tell you they're actually miserable, begins Eckhart. This is because our worldly possessions and accomplishments will bring only short-term fulfillment if our lives are not rooted in the unified, unmanifested source of life itself, or what Eckhart often calls "the formless dimension".
Join Eckhart for a nine-session exploration of how we each can become "a master of life" and an agent of transformation as we learn to be and act simultaneously in the material realm and the formless dimension. Topics include:
- Breaking the cycle of reincarnating thoughts
- Sense perceptions, the inner body, and on-the-spot inquiries that serve as "portals to presence"
- Simple practices to deepen your daily interactions with others
"You are a blessing on the planet when you are in touch with the spacious, formless dimension within yourself," explains Eckhart. Freedom from the World brings you his empowering teachings for bridging the dimensions of form and formlessness and living with renewed joy and peace and a sense of a meaningful purpose.

It makes it all a bit easier for those of us who find the path of inner peace sometimes (maybe often) illusive.
Thank you Eckhart.

This book is for the true spiritual seeker, and vital for the busy western mind who needs to operate in this world, but also wants to know how to surrender into the silence within - to refresh ourselves at a deep and subtle level - to experience deep peace.
Eckardt Tolle finds many insightful ways to explain this concept of freedom from the world, as the western mind has been conditioned for busy-ness, anxiety, fear and therefore needs to be reminded of the same simple truth in many different ways.
This has been a profound spiritual journey with Eckardt Tolle. So grateful I chose it!
A profound journey - true to the title!

I do get it regarding another recorded retreat
I tried to listen to, which was hard for me to the point where I had to delete it (twice) because there was just too much giggling about negative examples of getting caught in your thoughts, almost constantly— I tried to wait for the lessons but I felt like you would have to be there for some of these recordings to make sense, or resonate really. That one was stressful for me to listen to, with all of the examples of how not to think, unfortunately. But that’s just my learning style, I still feel a student to him.
This one though, doesn't do that, not for me anyway, and I feel sensitive to that.
THIS particular retreat recording is helping a lot, even as much as his books, and like I said, is just beautiful. His lectures can be silly, which I like sometimes, but this one is excellent for audio for me.
