Publisher's summary
If you’ve ever wondered why Squibs are never offered a place at Hogwarts, what happened when Vernon Dursley first met James Potter, or how Dumbledore and McGonagall formed their lifelong friendship, From the Wizarding Archive should go straight to the top of your wish list. Containing 80 articles written by J.K. Rowling for the original Pottermore website and available for the first time in audio, exclusively from Audible, Harry Potter fans everywhere are in for a treat.
If there’s one thing Harry Potter fans have in common (apart from impeccably good taste), it’s questions… so many questions. From the simple details that perplex us all – was Professor Umbridge always that awful? Why don’t wizards just use phones? – to the personal details that bring us closer to J.K. Rowling’s writing process – from her least favourite school subject and its impact on Professor Snape’s career, to the personal significance of King’s Cross and why it’s always where the Hogwarts Express departs – this is a veritable treasure trove of answers.
Narrated by Evanna Lynch, Hugh Quarshie, Finlay Robertson and Lara Sawalha, and with an exclusive foreword by Evanna Lynch, this spellbinding audiobook is essential listening for any Harry Potter aficionado.
The articles in From the Wizarding Archive were originally written by J.K. Rowling for pottermore.com and remain free to read in English on wizardingworld.com. 35 of the 80 articles were originally published across three Pottermore Presents eBooks. This is the first time any of the content has been available in audio format.
Theme music composed by Sara Carvalho.
Available in Dolby Atmos on Audible.

Story
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts, is one of the most recognizable and mysterious figures in the Harry Potter series. As an unscrupulous beetle-like journalist once said, he's "a biographer's dream." Is he omniscient or limited? Is he benevolent or malevolent? What really drove him in the last years of an extraordinary life? Dumbledore dives between the lines of the Harry Potter books to create a portrait of the controversial Headmaster. We find Dumbledore's hand in every seeming coincidence and consider the impossible decisions he had to make.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Story
The remarkable story of the seven African American soldiers ultimately awarded the World War II Medal of Honor, and the 50-year campaign to deny them their recognition. In 1945, when Congress began reviewing the record of the most conspicuous acts of courage by American soldiers during World War II, they recommended awarding the Medal of Honor to 432 recipients. Despite the fact that more than one million African-Americans served, not a single black soldier received the Medal of Honor. The omission remained on the record for over four decades.

Newly widowed and trying to cope with her grief, Winnie Mae Chisholm moves from Tennessee with her teenage son, Pax, to Oregon, hoping the change will let them both heal and move on. She’s warned when buying their new home that the next door neighbor, Mr. Fisher, is a famous recluse and no one has seen him in years, but that’s fine with her—she’s looking for quiet. She’s not going to get it, however, because when Pax meets the neighbor, he discovers that the reason Mr. Fisher hides from the world is that he isn’t actually from this world.

Hogwarts pupils ride an old-fashioned steam train to school, notes are taken on parchment with quill pens, and Muggle legends come to life in the form of werewolves, witches, and magical spells. Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. Elwood Blues (aka Dan Aykroyd) is on another mission—to tell the full story of how two young actors went from blues lovers to Blues Brothers. In this fascinating audio documentary Aykroyd “gets the band back together”, taking listeners on a road trip through time—from late nights in the early days with John Belushi at Dan’s speakeasy in Toronto, to working with blues legends Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and Ray Charles on The Blues Brothers movie, through the founding of House of Blues, the Blues Brothers 2000 sequel, and beyond.

Story
Devlin “Dev” Espinosa lives in the shadows of the criminal underworld. As a Ferryman, his job is to safely transport “the dead” to their new lives, no questions asked. With no one to answer to, lots of cash, and access to The Anonymous–an exclusive club for the elite–Dev is loving life. Until Remy Corbin gets into his car. Remy is just a regular guy working a regular bartending job. At least, that’s what he thought before walking in on his boss taking someone out. Witnessing the assassination paints a target on Remy’s back, and when the bullets fly, he jumps into a stranger’s car.

Great Rowling stuff, horrible introductions
A must have for Harry Potter Fans. Rowling's articles are fantastic and a must have for fans.
The introductions are entirely different, If you only saw the movies, read the books only once, read them a long time ago or love going down memory lane, the intros are fine. If you've read the books many times, the intros are ANNOYING! the intros are either a rehash of the books regards the content of the article or asking questions that the article answers (why bother?) The rehash intros are like "When Draco first met Harry, he tried to be Harry's friend but quickly found it wasn't going to happen."
To put it simply, the intros are useless fillers that have no purpose other than to get the length of the book to be longer, which is unnecessary. The Rowling material is fantastic and I'd happily buy a Rowling only version with none of the intros.

entertaining and enjoyable, even the intros ☺️
ignore review that says “intros are annoying “ It makes zero sense considering the entire thing is “ JK ROWLING STUFF” and even if that was the case it would be the performance 🙄I really wish they would filter the reviews for misinformation!
Anyway …..onto the review
I love the HP books and have read\listened to them all more than I can count or remember . So, when I seen this was coming out , I preordered it of course ! It’s full of little facts and background information on some of our most loved and not so loved characters . How certain things came to be and maybe even a few things you had never wondered about ! In short , it’s a great addition to the already wonderful Wizarding world of HP . I can’t wait for the next !!!

Will wait for more volumes
Am a Pottermore fan, as the articles go into details on minor characters, history in-universe and out, as we find out origins for different events and characters from early drafts, and more here. Will wait for more Pottermore things to be released in audio form.

Perfection!
I’m 50 and absolutely fell in love with this stories collection! The backstories, motives, and intricate world details makes me appreciate the HP world even more. I already own both audiobook versions, and am looking forward to the dramatized version now more than ever because of the audio quality of this book. It also makes me wish JKR would go back into this world and write more.

I need a volume 2!
This was great!!! I'd read some of this on Pottermore years ago but it's great for them all to be in a collection. I hope they do more of these deep dives into the characters of Harry Potter.

Great sound effects
When I first heard that this was happening, I got so excited. Always wanted all of these different writings and audio form for easy access rather than going online. Safe to say I was immensely satisfied overall with the performance and the sound effects were simply awesome.
My only nitpick here is that not everything is available in this audio performance. The writings pertaining to the other magical schools aside from those that we read about in the books and the history of magic in North America are absent.
If they were to be released, it would not be enough to fill another book unless the offer writes more stories and articles. I don’t think it would be right to release a second edition of this book simply just to add another hour and a half of story therefore I would suggest that if there was more created, it should be a free audio supplement because I don’t think there would be enough to make a an extremely long book.
You could probably stretch it to 3 1/2 to 4 hours, though if there was some other supplement material added to the existing ones.

I can’t wait for the next one!!!
From my understanding, all of the stories in this book were previously published on the Potter more website, but with my busy life, I never had time to go and read through all of them and missed most of these stories. This book really enhances all of the books in the series giving you more insight into characters back stories, and situations in the books. It was absolutely Fabulous and Miss Lynch does such a fantastic job. I just love her.
