Publisher's summary

Rose loves Dimitri. Dimitri might love Tasha. And Mason would die to be with Rose....

It’s winter break at St. Vladimir’s, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy’s crawling with Guardians - including Rose’s hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn’t bad enough, Rose’s tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason’s got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks... This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.

But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price....

Occasional mistakes

Narrator confused Mia Rinaldi's name and called her MAYA. Starting when Rose meets Adrienne Ivashkov.

Good book with horrible narration

I liked this book, but the narration was terrible, especially for the main character! Sentences sounding like questions were irritating, the weird accent, change in speed & volume were just too distracting. But, most of the other character voices were okay and I think done by the same person. I would recommend reading this book if possible, although I can not, due to optic nerve damage.

Not the best reader but bomb story

If you get over the reader you’ll be fine. This story is too good to pass up!

Narrator

I didn’t like how they changed narrators from the first book, but she still did a good job after adjusting to the differences in voices.

Another thrill ride!!!

Rose is so grown in so many ways but she is still very immature in other ways. She is unknowingly becoming a leader to her peers. The world they live in may force her to grow up before her time.

Lissa is also growing, maturing, and taking on a stronger role as their world is beginning to change. Her calm clarity and intelligent strategies are helping to bring her people together and making everyone notice that she has the potential to be a trailblazer to her kind who people will willingly follow.

The Strigoi are getting more devious in their attacks. Everyone is afraid. Unfortunately when people get scared they often get stupid. That stupidity may just get everyone killed.

Another thrill ride of a story that will make some stronger and show how weak others really are.

On a side note: I did not like that they switched narrators.

Great

I loved this book and the narrator does a great job of getting the emotions of the characters across. I only wish sh had at least tried with the accents Dimitri and Adrian feel only half themselves without it.

The book is great. the narrator is okay

I loved the book. the narrator however pronounced ME-A ( Mia) as MY-A and Dimitri should have had a Russian accent.

The narrator is terrible

Like others have said, her pronunciation is terrible and inconsistent. Also, I cringe at the voice she used for Rose.
