Story
Before the lights went out, Jack Warrant never considered himself a prepper. That was someone on the edge, a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday cultist who had a fatalistic view of the world. He was neither a theorist nor a cultist. He was an optimist. At least that was what he told himself when the darker thoughts creeped into his psyche as he stared at the ceiling in the middle of the night. Whenever he started down the rabbit hole, he always clawed his way back into the sunlight.

On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Someday soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission....

When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because he’s a Baltimore detective who has just been secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force created to deal with the problems that Homeland Security can’t handle....

Thanks for Bringing it Back!
Thank God Dirk took it upon himself to step into the booth to record and deliver the rest of this series! Obviously, nobody will match the narrator of the first few books. But if you can push through the second and third narrotors, (I know, they were more than just terrible) you will be so relieved as I was to see that the actual author of the series, Dirk Patton, has rescued us from them. Dirk does a great job telling the stories that he wrote. And I'm just incredibly relieved that I'll get to finish the series.

One long run on sentence!
My god take a breath! There is no distinction between characters or sentences or paragraphs! Monotonous and one long sentence. When something interesting happens it’s hard to tell because there’s no change in tone or speed.
Story is great but narration ruins it. Attempts at a Russian accent are pitiful. A gleaming example of hubris by the author.
