Publisher's summary

"Addicting and heart pounding - you won't be able to put it down until you've devoured every word." (Christina Lauren, New York Times best-selling author of Untamed)

The first in an emotion-fueled new-adult series from the number-one best-selling author of the Thoughtless novels.

Too fast, too furious - and way too hot to handle...

Mackenzie Cox has a lot to prove. Daughter of a racing legend, she is eager to show the world that she has inherited her father's talent in the male-dominated sport of professional motorcycle racing. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonized by her rival team's newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Plucked from the world of illegal street racing, Hayden immediately gets under Kenzie's skin. His insinuations that Kenzie is a spoiled princess who was handed her career fuels her desire to win, and, much to her surprise, Kenzie soon learns she performs better when she's racing against Hayden.

As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense - and strictly forbidden - attraction. The only rule between their two ultracompetitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie always does her best to play by the rules, but when her team slips into a financial crisis, she has no choice but to turn to Hayden for help. The tension simmers during their secret late-night rendezvous, but Kenzie has too much to lose to give in to her desires. Especially when she begins to doubt that Hayden has completely left his street life behind....

Yes it's Romance....but with a refreshing take

I've read the Thoughtless series and loved it. I did not read the Conversion series (doesn't appeal to me). So...Furious Rush. I really liked it. Let me preface this comment. I have read many many NAR books. I have my favorite authors, but others, I grew tired of the same ol' same ol' and dropped them from my TBR pile. I want MORE than the standard cookie cutter romance. It doesn't have to be much, I get it, I know what publishers and the NAR public want. I want a little variety, ok? Furious Rush did offer a little variety. It wasn't leaps and bounds, but enough to make me remember THIS book in the barrage of NAR stories.

Hayden and McKenzie "Kenzie" are motorcycle racers.... on opposite teams, forbidden to have contact with each other or risk expulsion from their teams. There is mutual attraction, but for Kenzie, Hayden stands against everything she believes in.... or so she thinks. But somehow, Hayden makes Kenzie a better racer, and she recognizes this and wants to use it to help save her Dad's failing business, Cox Racing, for her success alone may do the trick. Hayden has his own reasons for needing to win. For months, they meet secretly, and grow to know each other and both become better racers. There is a seed of drama in the story. Someone is messing with the bikes, but who? And why? As for an ending, don't expect the usual HEA ending. It is, of sorts, but not everything will be tied up in a pretty little bow, as sooooo many stories end. There is uncertainty in the future, there is unfinished business, not everything turns out as planned. At first I thought I smelled a sequel, but upon finishing, I'm thinking otherwise. It is best to let it stand alone.

Now, ladies, do not expect another Kellan Kyle. But in my opinion, I liked Kenzie far better than Kiera. While Kenzie is a little immature, she has more balls than most men.

Sasha, the narrator, I think did a fine job of narrating the story. My only peeve was HookUp's voice. He was annoying, but I think that was the point. And sometimes too many people in the story sounded like they were from Brooklyn NY. But each character did have their own voice that was distinquishable from the others. So a solid 4 stars for story and narrator.

The Ending Though

Great book kept me up all night and at the edge of my seat. I couldn't put the book down. I felt as though we were left hanging at the end. What about her relationship with her dad , was that resolved? or with her and Hayden? What about felicia? What about her job? Come on....... Seems like the book ended in the middle of a chapter.

Love the plot and characters . The ending...

Any additional comments?

Love the book and enjoy S. C Stephens stories. But ending of this one left some unanswered questions. So did some digging since audible didn't show any 2nd book to the series. There is a 2nd book that will help with the questions, but it's currently in print and ebook only. It's called Dangerous Rush. So until there is a audio version of the book, you will have to read the printed one to get those answers....
