About this listen

In the aftermath of a deadly alien invasion, a band of survivors fights on....

Hell Squad soldier Gabe Jackson has lost everything that mattered, including his twin brother. Now he just wants to kill the invading aliens anyway he knows how...and he knows a lot of ways. Previously part of a secret Army super-soldier project, he's faster, stronger, deadlier...but on the inside, he's a mass of rage, and pain, and grief - all waiting for a chance to drag him under. Until he finds her.

Dr. Emerson Green had her life planned: thrive in the high-stress environment of the ER, build her career, have a great life. Then the raptor alien invasion happened. Now she's the head of the medical team for the secret base sheltering human survivors outside of Sydney. She's also in charge of patching up the soldiers who get too close to raptor claws. She'd never planned for this...and she'd never planned for sexy, brooding Gabe Jackson.

As Emerson uncovers clues to the aliens' secret plans for the human race, she and Gabe collide in a storm of volatile passion. But the brooding soldier is as stubborn as he is silent, and Emerson knows she must convince him to reach out to her...because Gabe is a ticking time bomb about to go off.

Enjoyable

In the beginning I was a little dubious and it took me a while to adjust to the accents of the narrators (especially the female), but by the second time listening I could really get absorbed into the book.

The story itself is a fantastic addition to the Hell Squad series and I loved seeing Gabe and Dr Emerson tangle.

Another fantastic Hell Squad Book!

Gabe is a very popular character and he's dark and broody which are usually fan favs. Doc Emerson is very likeable. another fantastic fun action romance with scifi apocalyptic flair.

narration is starting to come along. JK and SC seem to be getting better and better as the Series progresses.

Gabe is a romantic!

Rating: ❤❤❤❤
Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥
Narrator Performance: Female: 🎧🎧🎧🎧 Male: 🎧🎧🎧🎧.5

• Nice addition to the series.
• Stands alone. No need to really read the other books in the series to know what’s going on.
• Disappointed about how the villain was handled. I would have preferred it handled in a different way.
• Nice surprise about the main characters in book 2. [I didn’t read/listen to their story] A possible occurrence that was first brought up in book 1.
• Glad to see alfa male Gabe grow after loosing Zeke.
• Gabe = closeted romantic.
• Interested in learning what the aliens are trying to gain with their experiments. Why? Hope the author doesn’t drop that part of the series plot in future installments simply because the MC’s probably won’t be doctors. A bit of foreshadowing made me think of something and I want to know if I’m right.
• Looking forward to finding out more about the invasion. Maybe some info will come from Reed’s woman in the next book, REED.
• Emerson = gutsy doctor/strong woman.
• Good narrators. Great pace by each though not an over abundance of acting. Loved that the male narrator used accents.

Awesome book!

I usually read the book then listen to audiobook for my reread. Listening to Gabe gave me a new feel to the story.
For the narrators review:
I have no problem with Samantha voicing Doc.
With Jeffrey, i don't feel like he's tough enough to voice a very tough and pained soldier.
This audiobook is a gift by the author.

Fantastic!

The story just keeps getting better and better. Gabe is an enhanced human and a bad ass! I love this series and I have to say it is definitely worth the listen. The story is well written and narrated. It has action, suspense, intrigue, adventure and Hot Romance. The series is set in the future with a United coalition. It author does a fabulous job with telling a story.
The narrator’s do a fabulous job with the characters and voices of each. I think I have found two more narrator’s to add to my list of favorite. The narrator’s bring the characters to life.

Exciting with great characters

I have to say that I get really nervous reading these post-apocalyptic books and even knowing there is going to be an HEA, I still get nervous!

Gabe lost his twin brother and my heart felt for him. (I keep hoping that they somehow bring his brother back. I mean, we're talking about lizard aliens...it could happen, couldn't it?) Anyway, he has to keep going for the good of the human survivors. Emerson is the lead physician taking care of the survivors and no more so than the soldiers who protect the rest of the humans. So she and Gabe have many opportunities to meet and together, they have to heal from the past so they can get their HEA.

I think one of the best parts of this book are the characters. I love the couple but also the rest of the team who we'll continue to meet through this series (and it's a long one full of multiple books). It's so much fun and so exciting; I've previously read the books but now, I love having the opportunity to listen to it come to life with the narration of Jeffrey Kafer and Samantha Cook, both of whom do great jobs with the reading. Fun overall and I'll be listening to the next one!

Nice Story!

Love that they went with a professional woman in this story instead of another soldier. Match her with the enhanced soldier and it was a wonderful story. I wish there had been more backstory on Gabe's "enhancements" by the military, but getting a HEA was good enough for me.

Love it

BOOK REVIEW......
This is the best book and couple yet. I love how they slowly worked their way through the issues of Gabe's demons to find their forever love. This is a great series. It's well written and moves at a good pace. The characters are sexy, complex and exciting. My favorite part of the book was when Emerson walked into the Rec room dressed to drive Gabe nuts. And it works.

I would recommend this book and series to anyone looking for a good alien story to read.

Reading order......
- Marcus
- Cruz
- Gabe
- Reed
- Roth
- Noah
- Shaw

NARRATOR REVIEW.......
The narrator does a good job at bringing the characters to life.

Will Gabe and Emerson learn to lean on each other with love?

Gabe is the third book in the Hell Squad series. Gabe is intense, driven, out for revenge, and unable to resist the peace and comfort that Doc Emerson brings. But as the fight against the aliens only gets tougher, will Gabe and Emerson learn to lean on each other with love, or is there too much stacked against them?

Oh, I just absolutely adore this book! It’s full of swoon-worthy scenes, danger, passion, and a growly and protective man that just can’t help but be drawn to the perfect woman for him. Gabe is so full of pain with a need for revenge, but I loved seeing some of the softer sides of himself as he opened up more and more with Emerson. Driven, Emerson is a workaholic with a need to help others, but I loved that she was able to relax and let go when she was around Gabe. While absolutely perfect for one another, neither have been in love before, and there were some battles they needed to fight, in and out of the base! Mr. Kafer and Ms. Cook did a fantastic job bringing both characters to life and I definitely fell for this couple in a whole new way by listening to them through audio! I love this book! I love this series!
