D. Michael Hope
Glances Through the Eyes of the Reaper is an eclectic mix of 13 short stories ranging from 100-word drabbles to a few-thousand-word stories. Stories take the listener from a lone survivors end of days and a scream in the dead of night to a pair of old soldiers in their Autumn days.

As collections of horror short stories go, this was a VERY short collection. It was 13 stories crammed into an hour and 16 minutes. I just felt they were too short to be worth a credit. Each story is only a few minutes long, so they were over before I really got into them. There was virtually no transition between stories either, which made made for an awkward listen. The narration was pretty good for what it was. But I just think the stories needed to be much longer.
much too short

Hope does a really good job handling the narration. I enjoyed listening to him, and feel that he was a good match for Huggin's style. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

maybe. the problem is, most of these weren't even really stories so much as a synopsis of a story or someone telling kind of what the story is about, I didn't get a sense of a complete story and some were so short I didn't even realize what they were about.
Has Glances Through the Eyes of the Reaper turned you off from other books in this genre?
no, I love horror which is one of the reasons I wanted to give this a try. Didn't consider any of these horror, though.
What aspect of D. Michael Hope’s performance would you have changed?
Great voice, but almost lulled me to sleep - not because he's boring but there wasn't a lot of tonal change and his voice just naturally seems to be very soothing
Could you see Glances Through the Eyes of the Reaper being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
not really - didn't think any of the stories were standouts that would be able to be fleshed out that much
Any additional comments?

At times, while listening, I couldn't tell that a story was over and another had begun and got confused. A better break and more definite reading of the story title. maybe music in between.

D. Michael Hope's narration was alright, although a little deadpan. I don't think he was a good choice for this work, because most of the stories are set in the UK, and Hope speaks with a North American accent. This made some of the British phrases sound odd and unnatural.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
