Publisher's summary

When Beatrice Trixie Jordan replies to a personal ad, she meets Jacob Grace, a charming, effervescent 30-something free-spirit writer passionately seeking life. He possesses his own turns of phrase and ways of thinking and feeling that dissonantly harmonize with Trixie's off-center vision.

As they rollercoaster through the joys and furies of their wrenching romance, they try to come to terms with the hurt brought about by both of their distant fathers who, in different ways, forsook them. Written with snap, glitter, and wit, God-Shaped Hole is a memorable, poignant love story that will leave you weeping with laughter and rushing to share it someone.

To see a fortune teller or not to see one...

This was my first book by Tiffanie DeBartolo and it certainly won't be my last. I was so pleasantly surprised with the narrator, she was great. Narrators can make or break the story for me. If you are the type that expects a big twist or surprise, this isn't the book for you. If you require a HEA, this isn't the book for you. It is a beautifully written story about the relationship between Beatrice and Jacob. I read a review that said God-Shaped Hole isn't a romance, but it is a love story. I couldn't agree more. Personally, I think this book best fits an audience that enjoys reading New Adult books. Looking forward to reading more from this author!

Wonderful But Negative

This was a really well-written story, narrated perfectly. I was hoping for a better outcome, the main character overall was a very negative one.

The Profundity of Great Loss

I enjoyed this intelligent, well written and beautifully narrated story of great love found and lost. Seamlessly written, it held my attention from the beginning right through to the very end. The narrator did such a good job that she became, for me, the heart, soul, and complete embodiment of the protagonist herself. All around, a great job well done! 👏👏👏

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

When I started this novel, I knew that it was telling someone's history. From the words used, you could tell that this was Jacob and Trixie's story from the end, looking back.

I felt that the build up for the story was done perfectly. Something bad was going to happen, maybe it was the vibe of the story, maybe it was the title of the book. I just knew something bad was going to happen to either Trixie or Jacob. Yet I didn't see the end coming like it did. Somehow I was focused elsewhere and didn't see it even when it happened, I was taken aback in such a big way.

I loved this story. It hurt my heart but you know, sometimes that's the kind of love story you want. One that makes you feel all the feels.

Soul mates

Warning - this book is amazing but it will rip your heart out. And if it doesn’t- well, then you must not have a heart. I will be thinking about this one for a long time.

enticingly hearbreaking

The characters are unabashedly human and the emotional tones feel authentic and vibrant. I cried at least once and felt it was worth listening to twice. highly recomend.

Ending was sudden and undetailed...

i loved the beginning and the middle; kept me captured by the story by the ending was mediocre and did not involve the detail that I was desiring.

Can't Get Over It

H O L Y W O W!!!!!!!!
This book was amazing. This author really got me - from the very beginning and the acknowledgements....I just really enjoyed this story. I laughed. I cried. I am still crying a week later at all that this couple went through. I think the ending was what I expected though didn't want...and I loved it! Jacob really stole my heart and left me with a God Shaped hole, too.

Perfection.

This was the first book that really stuck with me after I read it around 14 years old. I am now 39 and I still found myself thinking about it from time to time so decided to give it a re-read (listen, this time) to see if it was just my young dumb brain that liked it so much. Nope. This book is perfection. It was perfection 25 years ago when I first read it and it is perfection now, still. A book for the die hard romantics. 🖤
