About this listen

The Furyck Saga continues with this heart-stopping fourth volume in A.E. Rayne’s epic fantasy adventure!

As the Arnesson brothers finally reach Oss’ harbour, Ivaar’s discomfort grows. Is he really willing to hand his long-dreamed-of throne to Borg Arnesson and his brothers?

With the signal fires burning down the headland, Eadmund makes his final preparations to the fort’s defenses, hoping to see Jael and the Brekkan fleet appear on the horizon.

Landing in Andala, Jael and Aleksander must ready their ships before they leave for Oss, but will they arrive in time to help Eadmund?

The Dragos family has escaped with Hanna, but Berard is injured, and Karsten and Haegen must get him to safety before they can think about reclaiming their kingdom and avenging their father’s death.

In Hest, Morana and The Following have raised the woman. But who is she? And what will Jaeger do now that she wants to claim the power he so desperately sought for himself?

And as the Widow is drawn into the battle for the Darkness, will she finally be forced to reveal herself and make her true allegiance known?

Cliffhanger

Well I'm still not convinced Edmond and Jael are a true love match. I mean who picks a fat drunk spoiled royal project over a childhood friend and loyal companion? Unless you are after the power of being a Queen? Seriously I am rooting for Alexander. Lives hang in the balance and I'm on to the next book!

Heart pumping!

Holy moley, what a thrilling story! My heart was pounding & I was holding my breath through much of this book. I'm exhausted.
Finty is such an excellent narrator! The story and writing is prestine, but Finty made it even more captivating.
Love all the characters, even the bad guys, but I really want a win for the home team. I also want to punch Edmund. Yeah, yeah, not his fault, blah, blah, blah.

Getting worse

This series started out great. I'm now on book 5 and it's gotten way too far fetched. Plus, it's just dragging on and on, and even when someone dies, you don't know if they're going to pop back to life or not. The narrator started out well, but by book 3 was awful. The entire tone for everyone and everything is sneering and yelling and I can't listen to this book with my ear buds in because her voice gives me a headache. Lastly, from book 4 on, the storyline switches back and forth so quickly from scene to scene that it's hard to keep track of and extremely annoying. I realize the author wants to keep you in suspense, but there needs to be more than 8-10 sentences before switching. I've already purchased book 6 and am too invested in the story to quit now, but it's gotten to where it's just droning in the background while I work.

Couldn’t stop listening!

Great continuation of the saga. Narrator is impressive with her clear representation of each character.

Decent Story

I enjoyed the series and the performance up to this point, but there are two things that really bothered me, 1) how much rape happens in this series. it's awful. I do understand that any book needs antagonists and protagonists but i don't think it's completely necessary to show how bad a character is by making them rapists, there's plenty of other ways to express the depth of cruelty in a character, I typically enjoy fantasies because of the lack of realism. 2) I can't believe how long and drawn out the series is, i feel as though this could have been edited and shortened into 3, maybe 4 books. it's a bit ridiculous. all that being said, I do like the series. The characters are great, and the storyline has been good enough to keep me reading/listening up to (hopefully) the end of the series.

Nonstop action and great character development, Not only are there heroes and villains but the needs of the story keep people evolving. Very well written!

Such a great story

This is not my type of reading genre at all, but I truly love how this author creates the most interesting characters and exciting situations.
And the performance by the narrator is wonderful. I can’t imagine anyone being able to do a better job of keeping the listener engaged and creating such distinct voices for each character. First rate.
