Love Hamster Diversity

My favorite part was sarcasm, characters, and humor, and how they merged together to critique the current mayhem that our leaders cause.

Hilarious Dark Humour with Hamsters and Politics

A very funny, engaging story that has that 'adult animation' writing edge. The satire is quite deliberate and sharp and the characters while being exaggerated are all very memorable. It tells a story that describes real world issue taken to its extremeties that is helped by the performance done for the audio book. The absurdity helps in that it engages readers to continue reading to see how the story would resolve, and it really does pay off.

The final twist genuinely caught me off guard, would definitely recommend to anyone who is a fan of dark humour comedy.

A Curious Amalgam of Politics and Technology!

Hamsters On A Plane not only leads in political humor, but flawlessly blends the satire with the science of animal behavior. This audiobook is also a terrific demonstration of the danger of technological dependence as envisioned in the future. We can already see the author’s concept making it’s way to reality with the ongoing research on “Rodents to the Rescue”.

Dag Compeau beautifully ends the story with the prevail of personal autonomy limited not only to humans but the animals as well!

I highly recommend this audiobook to all who are seeking to dive in a deadly mission with the hamsters!

A Wild Ride!

This book is an absurd wild ride on waves of political satire and genre parody. The story goes in totally unpredictable directions. I recommend it to anyone looking for a few hours of chaotic fun and mayhem with a bit of commentary thrown in. The characters are all distinct and interesting for a relatively short audiobook.

The performers are very good and certainly bring the book to life.

Fast-Paced, Cute but Deadly Fuzzy Hamsters

Set in the very near future, global warming has happened, and the political world is slightly off-center. Hamsters are no longer the fuzzy, cute, and adorable rodents they once were but are now vicious bloodletting monsters. The president, military, and government have seen this. What comes next is mind-blowing!

The author, Dag Compeau weaves a story around some fantastical characters and events from today’s world capturing them in a satirical manner. Compeau focuses on events such as the cause of global warming, identity, and more. Will you be offended? Probably, but there is no arguing that Compeau knows what can be funny and how to put it out there in a fun and interesting way. The character development is thorough. The storyline, although oddly weird, is deliberate and carefully laid out to create a funny story tinged with real-life issues and concerns.

The narrator, Chris Hyson is amazing. I’m not sure how he got through this audiobook without laughing or groaning over some of the jokes and comments, but he did. He spoke clearly and projected the personality of each character. Oftentimes mixing accents, voices, and tones at a steady yet very quick pace. Considering this is fairly action-packed, Hyson did not stumble once. He brought humor to life.

Overall, this is a fun book if you are open-minded enough to appreciate the humor, able to read between the lines, and not take life so seriously. Be prepared to be offended if you are not open-minded or appreciate satirical humor. Oh, and just so you know – it is NOTHING like Snakes on a Plane! It’s more fun!

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.
