About this listen

Times are hard for newly minted vampire Merit. Ever since shapeshifters announced their presence to the world, humans have been rallying against supernaturals - and they're camping outside of Cadogan House with protest signs that could turn to pitchforks at any moment. Inside its doors, things between Merit and her Master, green-eyed heartbreaker Ethan Sullivan, are tense. But then the mayor of Chicago calls Merit and Ethan to a clandestine meeting and tells them about a violent vamp attack that has left three women missing. His message is simple: get your House in order. Or else.

Merit needs to get to the bottom of this crime, but it doesn't help that she can't tell who's on her side. So she secretly calls in a favor from someone who's tall, dark, and part of an underground vamp group that may have some deep intel on the attack. Merit soon finds herself in the heady, dark heart of Chicago's supernatural society - a world full of vampires who seem to be ready to fulfill the protesting human's worst fears, and a place where she'll learn that you can't be a vampire without getting a little blood on your hands.

and I won't reveal it, but, game change ending! It pleases me, as I was considering stopping my pursuit of these books because of a particular character dominating them.... well, now, there's been something of a shuffle, and I'm on to book 5.

Well now, that was a surprise

Not much more to say, other than wow! Not happy with the plot twist BUT I'm holding onto hope from a previously mentioned "prophetic vision" that tells me the plot twist may not be true.... fingers crossed!

Amazing.... as expected!

I look forward to book 5, but that will be my last one in the series because I've gotten to like Cynthia Holloway narrating.

To change a reader in any series is stupid, in my view, and makes it hard at least for me, to finish a series.

Disappointed with one thing

I love the turns and twists of the Chicagoland Vampire Series. Each book weaves you into the fabric of the story so much so that I am in total mourning for Ethan. I hope the next book isn’t a disappointment.

It’s simple, I’m addicted.

Ok I'm not mmuch for giving spoilers but this book is going to make me talk about what happened in it. I can't believe you killed Ethan. I liked him I'm just hoping you use Mallory to bring him back in the next book. On my way to find out.

Hell No

The story continues and Merit has to fight again. Her feelings, her conscience and her ever growing circle of friends make her life seem as if it is duty bound. Yet again, Merit continues to be herself and isn't pushed like a round into the square, others want her to be.

Awesome development!
