Publisher's summary

What do you do when the past refuses to stay dead and buried?

Six months have passed since the explosion at Platinum Industries. For the first time in our lives, Bandit and I knew what it felt like to be with a loving family, and it was a lot like getting to eat a main and dessert every day, for every meal (and having starved on the streets for so long, everyone knows how much I like my food).

Things were going great and we were about to celebrate some joyful news when the inexplicable happened: Sully received an impossible message from his past, then my own demons caught up to me. Even Bandit wasn’t happy, unable to get the stray we recently rescued to like him. For whatever reason, the two dogs could not get along.

In no time, our close unit fragmented as we were each faced with our very worst nightmares until I finally found myself alone and stranded, with Sully nowhere in sight. And Bandit? He’d been dognapped. Taken by someone with evil intentions.

The thought that Bandit could be stuck in a cage again filled my heart with fury, but with my family on the brink of implosion and our enemy seemingly invisible and one step ahead of us at all times, just how was I going to save him?

The award-winning creator & screenwriter of the ground-breaking BBC television show, Spirit Warriors starring Jessica Henwick (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Game of Thrones, The Defenders) brings you an action-packed thrill-ride in the sequel to her award-winning debut novel WANTED.

Douglas Sabattis

I love this series . The making of a family. Sully's love for both Chase and Bandit. Then adding Sam to the mix. With his Dad and Gideon also
makes a great family dynamic. Development of characters and the back stories. The Narrator is perfect.

Love these books!

I love the science-fiction and the strong female characters. I think it’s great that the stories show you can be sting and Independant- but STILL depend on family and loved ones. Chase, Bandit, Sully and the entire family are well developed characters and provide easy suspension of disbelief as you cheer for the characters. I listen to audio books driving back and forth to work in the car- and often find myself talking to the characters- “Ohno! It’s *+^%!!!” Fun, entertaining stories.

These books would make a great TV Series

I really love this series and I'm now on to book 3! If you haven't read the first book, you'll want to get it and read it first. Although, there is just enough recap to keep you from being entirely lost, I would recommend reading them in order. This is a story of a runaway teenage girl (due to an abusive family) who finds and rescues a very special dog that has bad people after him. The adventure continues in this book but has elements of Chase and Sully's past coming back to complicate and confuse their lives, allowing an opportunity for Bandit to be dognapped... I don't want to give anything away so I will keep this review short. Just like the first book it starts off pretty quickly and has a great pace, emotional and adventurous ride that makes it a difficult book to put down.

The narrator did a fantastic job and really was a lot of fun to listen to. I highly recommend this series and I would love to see if made into a tv mini series!

As a parent reviewer I would say it's geared for teens but is clean enough for 4th grade and up but really adults will enjoy it too. There were only a few bad words but no f-bombs, no overly graphic violence and no bedroom scenes.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Absolutely amazing!

My third read from author Jo Ho, the second in the Chase Ryder series and it will not be my last. Haunted picks up where Wanted (Chase Ryder #1) left off. As long as it had been between book 1 & book 2 a cast of characters would have helped, it took me a little bit to get back to who’s who and the interrelationships. A well-written story from a very good author. No spoilers from me. You need to buy and read the book then leave a review. I discovered Jo Ho when an email from the author encouraged me to read & review The Boy Next Door so I did. Please do the same for an incredible author and an incredible story! Narrator Allyson Voller’s’s talented narration adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Awesome Continued

Chase and Bandit have an undeniable bond of Love. This sequel is an emotional roller coaster ride to remind us not to take the love and bonds that are important for granted. Loved it although it is a little more serious than the book Wanted.

Awesome!!!

This author is so good at capturing your attention and holding it from beginning to conclusion! This audiobook is hard to put down! It is an amazing journey with Chase and Bandit going through a rollercoaster of emotions, betrayal, love, misunderstandings, and surprises.

The narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

This is such a fast paced thrilling and action packed story that will keep you on your toes. I love how this story wraps up nicely but the author introduces new information to get us hooked and wanting to know what will happen next in the Chase Ryder Series!

I’m looking forward to book 3 in this outstanding series!!!

Excellent.

Things have settled down for Chase Ryder and her brilliant dog Bandit, and it almost seems as if they might get a chance at a normal, happy life, but she should have known better. This book expands upon the first in many ways. While the book still focuses on Chase and Bandit, this time around the story also heavily features those people Chase has come to think of as family, and they are an interesting bunch. And speaking of family, we also get a look into Chase's past and the relationship she had with her real mother. Those insights really help to understand the young woman Chase has become. Excellent fast-paced story that sees Chase and Bandit once more in danger, and as with the first book I get a very Dean Koontz Watcher-esque vibe from the book. I look forward to Chase's further adventures.

Sad to see this series end

My ONLY dislike of this book is that it was the last in this series that I absolutely loved.

UK slang for a US story

Some UK words may not be familiar with US readers (hearers) like boot for the trunk of car, A5 as a size if paper. But what grated on my ears the most was pronouncing “the dog bared his teeth” as bar-d not bare-d. Drove me nuts.
