Publisher's summary

As a special class of earthbound guardian angel called Memitim, Hawkyn is charged with protecting those whose lives are woven into the fabric of the future. His success is legendary, so when he’s given a serial killer to watch over, he sees no reason for that to change. But Hawkyn’s own future is jeopardized after he breaks the rules and rescues a beautiful woman from the killer’s clutches, setting off an explosive, demonic game of cat and mouse that pits brother against brother and one that won’t end until someone dies.

Aurora Mercer is the half-wytch lone survivor of a psychopath who gets off on the sadistic torture of his victims. A psychopath whose obsessive psyche won’t let him move on until he kills her. Now she’s marked for death, her fate tied to that of a murderer…and to a sexy angel who makes her blood burn with desire....

Continuation of Azigoth’s story as well as his son Hawken

Moves the storyline along in the Demonica series.Nice to see Azigoth learn to develop relationships with some of his children. Looking forward to seeing more of both couples stories. This book could have benefited from dual or duet narration as the narrator’s female voices were terrible. he did a good job with the males- especially Hawkins accent.

Hawkyn has always been a rule follower until now!!

Hawkyn is a Memitim who wants to ascend to help bridge the gap between his siblings and the Memitim counsel. As a Memitim he must watch over and protect Primori, even when they are evil like his current one. He’s a nasty, malicious serial killer who just set his sights on Aurora.

Aurora Mercer is the half-wytch who suddenly becomes more important to Hawkyn than the rules he has lived by all the long years of his existence. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

Their time together quickly escalates to some serious hot and heavy that has Hawkyn throwing his life into a massive tailspin that we are lucky enough to get to listen to it all unfold.

Loved Story, Hated Narrator

Narrator made male voices feminine & not strong. Took away from the humor. Should have Ryan West narrating these stories.

“They need to be protected.”

Hawkyn is a Demonica Underworld novella and my first read by Larissa Ione. This author (and series) have been on my TBR for a while and I could not be more thrilled about discovering another great paranormal romance series to explore. Hawkyn is an earthbound guardian angel who has been given the job of protecting humans. He has no control over if they are evil or good. When the human he has been charged to watch over kidnaps a young (and quite sassy) woman, Hawkyn intervenes and the future is changed forever.

Overall, Hawkyn was a truly delicious novella that drew me in from the first page. Although there was an obvious history between the characters, I was not distracted in the least. I was not only able to engage completely with the story but I was also inspired to check out more from this author. Novellas are always a hard sell for me and yet, in this case, I am so happy that I was able to get this delicious sample of the Demonica Underworld. I am looking forward to more!

Interesting Premise

I saw this on the Audible Romance package, so I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, I didn't start with the beginning of this series, so there was some things that would've been better if I had read the previous books. At least, Azagoth's book because there was a lot of Lilliana and His story in this one, so I'd recommend starting at the beginning of the series. The narrator didn't really fit the characters for me, but he did okay. The premise is interesting, I really liked the serial killer angle and the demonic angel stuff is interesting. The romance has sweet moments, but I didn't quite feel the connection growing between them. This story was entertaining enough that I'd like to continue the series starting with the beginning.
