About this listen

Selena Miller accepts a job in Wolfgang County, jumping at the chance to get away from her overbearing family. Crippled by anxiety, she's determined to start a new, independent life.

As second of the Wolfgang pack, Caden Wolfgang is used to having her orders followed without question. When the Alpha allows a human to work in the heart of their business, Caden is horrified. Haunted by a childhood tragedy at the hands of a human, Caden makes it her mission to keep Selena from threatening everything they've built.

When contempt turns into attraction and passion flares, can their love survive Selena learning the truth of what the Wolfgangs really are?

Terrible narration

The story was ok, cliche but entertaining. The narration did not fit the book, voices felt wrong for several of the characters. I would not recommend listening to the audiobook, but instead reading the story.

Good story lackluster narrator

I don’t write many of these. But the reviews of the narrator are warranted. The narration is fairly unskilled and lacked experience on this type of work. Other works might go well but not a romance. Gave off more of the feel of an unskilled speaker who was telling a story they heard or read of someone else then true narration. It is tolerable because the story is so good and the narration is lucky to fall into a type that with the right mindset can be acceptable but I had to consider if I wanted to keep this one. I decided to in spite of the narration. The story saved the narrator though it did barely.

Good Story

I enjoyed the story, but the narration didn't really fit. The voices honestly did not fit the characters.

I want to see this movie!

It’s a great story. Not predictable. I’ll admit there are parts where you have to listen “through” the narration and hear it in your own voice, but still the story is beautiful.

A Howling Good Time

This was a whole boat load of fluff and hilarious angst that had me laughing and fanning myself the whole listen. There was a very quick build up of the relationship, plenty of wolf lore and cute gayness. A nice light read to satisfy your need for lovey and smoldery goodness. I wish they had tied up the story a little more, but I do know it's a series so I have resigned myself to the fact that I have to continue on with this new world (oh nooooo lol).

The narrator was like caffeine to my ears. She breathed life into the characters, and tried to give them each their own voice. She was consistent with those as well. I admit I wasn't crazy about some of her choices, but I could always tell who was talking. Usually narrators were more...toned down? when they read, so hearing someone with a lot of pep in her voice was a pleasant surprise. It seemed to hype up the story too, and I liked the way she tried to convey the feelings of the scenes sincerely.

example of how a narrator can damage a story

The story line in itself is good. the narratation though isnhard to listen to. It changed it from a nice romance story to sounded like a dubbed anime cartoon.

Jenny Frame is excellent!!

I love this author and this book, but the narrator is all wrong. The narrator would be better suited for children's books, or something, her voice and inflections were too high pitched and upbeat all the time and inappropriate for a book with a certain aggressiveness or darkness that comes with werewolves. Anyway, the book/author are too good to keep me from listening to it, I just dealt with it. Jenny Frame knows how to convey the emotions of the characters, make you feel right along with them and love them. can't wait, hopefully, for a sequel or an offshoot.
