About this listen

A king desperate to save his bride. A queen discovering the dark potential of her power.

After nearly losing one another in a savage attack on the city, Vor and Faraine return to Mythanar, fully committed to their marriage. But the situation in the Under Realm remains dire. With the world poised on the brink of collapse, Vor struggles to protect his kingdom. Though Faraine longs to support him as queen, she fights the weakness in her body at every turn... not to mention the strange changes warping her gods-gift.

When war drags them apart, Vor and Faraine face the consequences of their choices. How can Vor lead those who have lost faith in him? Torn between honor and desire, he must decide where his heart truly lies: with his kingdom or his queen.

Meanwhile, as Faraine explores the new dimensions of her power, she starts to believe the coming cataclysm may be prevented. But in doing so, will she unleash a darkness in herself far more disastrous?

Breathtaking stakes. Ultimate reveals. This is the epic finale you've been waiting for!

Let Heart of the Shadow King keep you swooning into the small hours of the night with its heartbreak, heat, and hard-won happily-ever-afters.

This is the epic conclusion of Vor and Faraine's story and it had so many wow factors that I don't know where to start. NO SPOILERS will be given, like at all, so this will be a fairly short review because there is so much I can spill and don't want to accidentally do that.

Okay, if you have gotten to book three you have been watching the love between Vor and Faraine grow, their affection towards one another can be seen by all so it only makes sense that they each do whatever it takes to make sure the other is safe. But can anyone be safe when the world around them is crumbling down?

Sylvia Mercedes takes readers on a journey to faraway lands where Princesses have God's Gifts and Shadow King's are in need of favors. Marriages are arranged and light can be seen in the deep depths of the earth's core. Luckly for Vor, Faraine learns more about her powers each day and gets stronger and stronger because he is going to need all the power she has if he has any hopes of stopping his world from falling.

I recommend this book, and trilogy to readers who enjoy Spicy Fantasy Romances. Emily Lawrence and Tim Campbell did a fantastic job narrating this trilogy, so if you have the chance to listen to the audiobook Go for it. I would also like to say the new paperbacks released by Ace Publishing a division of Penguin Publishing Group have bonus material, which I LOVED, especially in this last book it was like getting a short story for free.

Happy Reading or Listening!!!

Great, storyline, engaging characters. I hate that there’s a 15 word minimum by the book. This is stupid.

Great series

I loved the underworld story and how kindness and love was the answer. The world building was fantastic and the characters enduring.

While I thought the plot was amazing. The Underworld was so imaginative, unique, creative and original. I was pulled in to the adventure and the chaos... but really wanted to yell at the main characters so many times. They were so madly in love with each other. Couldn't stand to be apart. They were grown, married adults, yet there was no communication. They both internalized everything. Suffered constantly inside themselves. There would be such long, repetitive internal monologs. I can't even count how many times the FMC had, "thoughts in the back of her mind, words on the tip of her tongue, thoughts she didn't know how to express, so she just said nothing." GIRL grow a backbone. You can literally feel that your man worships you. So use your big girl words. If these two just sat and had an hour long conversation, they could have taken on all their problems together. Instead they fought their own separate battles causing a lack of trust/growth. It got exhausting. I know it was to "build the story." But no joke, they didn't fully speak with each other about everything until the last hour of the last book. I had to finish the story because I was dragged in and couldn't stop...but man I was irritated the entire time.

This series pulled me in...but would leave me so frustrated!

This third book was so intense. The uncertainty of how things would play out was non-stop. This is How you end a trilogy. Fantastic!

I enjoy how the author switches the storyline from the female lead character to the male lead character.. heightens the suspense. As before the narrators are marevelous

Beautiful ending of the story
