About this listen

When it comes to ruling a kingdom, sometimes a bastard knows best.

I'm Thane Stone, a simple man that wants nothing more than to put down a few crops in the plot of land I purchased at the edge of town. My dream might very well have come true were it not for what I found in the forest. It called to me, woke something buried deep within, a bloodline that raises far more questions than it answers.

So, I suppose I'm a bastard with royal blood? To be frank, I'm not sure I give a damn. For now, I'd settle for being left alone with my dog, and maybe save some space for a wife one day. My bloodline's powers are a nice touch though.

As with most good things in life, however, it seems my unforeseen inheritance comes with a few strings attached. I struggle not to draw attention as I build up my homestead, blessing the land and my home with my strange gifts. When the captain of the town guard comes sniffing around, I sense trouble is on the horizon.

At least I have Pork Chop and the lovely Mira at my side. With their help and the bloodline of kings, I suppose I'll make due after all.

This is a really good start to this series and the premise is different enough to be refreshing for most the other stuff out there and I would highly recommend giving this a listen

A great start to a great series.

premise is great and it started out fine, but then either the author changed midway through the book or the author turned off their brain, because the writing not only became repetitive by repeating the same statement immediately after it was mentioned in a slightly different way but it also became more and more amateur-ish the longer it went on all the way to the end of the book. Don't ever make a whole chapter about th MC making thought out choices for his powers only to later act like he's never read the notification about them...it just shows you didn't bother to get a decent editor for your work.

poor choices

the main character is supposed to be a ideal conservative man. he handles everything on his own, won't accept any help/hand outs, everyone hates him because he a orphan with the stone as a last name, his only companion is a Dog, the love interest ask him wants try and show concern for him but he keeps telling her he is fine. all this is fine and could make to a good character but we learn all this throught the characters internal thoughts instead of being showen this. when the character talks about how he needs to handle something himself and that he shouldn't bring girl into my troubles.

there's nothing problematic in the story it's just bland. if you like sword art online this is your book.

A forgettable book. it's not bad nor is it good.
