Publisher's summary

Lady Triona McKee's life is under desperate siege. The marriage she thought would answer her dreams has left her struggling alone to provide for her people, while an arrogant kinsman prepares to take her land. But one look into the cynical green eyes of her cousin's boldest knight warns Triona that even a promise of help is just as dangerous.

Betrayal taught Sir Brett Murray to make protecting others his only life. Still, the growing desire he can't help but feel for this entrancing widow makes him long to earn more than her trust. But in trying to save all she cherishes, he can't see how an honor-scarred knight can stay in her world and her heart - unless he risks everything to prove his love is now and forever always. Contains mature themes.

love this whole series!

I started at #1 & have listened to 1-this one (can't remeber what # this one is 🫣)
and I can honestly say this series makes my day. I first listened to Hannah Howells, "McNachon Vampires," which I HIGHLY recommend (start @ #1- that's basically this series but add in the fantasy genre...awesome!) LOVING listening to Angela Dawe's voice also! This is the first time I've heard her narrations.
I Loved the MLC in this book more than any I think so far. To me, Sir Brett Murray sounded like the epitome of a gentleman, warrior & lover all rolled into one Sexy package!! Its really an awesome book!
& I wouks highly recommend!
ps: don't listen to it in your car if the kids are in it also!! 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 😉 😜

Highland Master

This is the 19th book of the Murray family series. Lady Triona is a widow for two years and is the laird of the hold she is living in. Not many women claim to be this. But after a violent fever that wiped out the hold she is left in charge. Her neighboring keep is wanting the land and is trying to get it by wedding her. Just when she begins to think that another loveless marriage is in the future for her she is given another chance. At love and holding onto what it hers by decree. Sir Brett Murray is the knight in shinning armor for her. He rides in with his and her cousin Arianna who has left her husband to pout over something she finds out. So while there he and his men decide to help her. More than what is believed is going on. Where did her garrison of knights go? And even if she knows who is destroying her crops she cannot prove it. He, Brett, has his own demons to contend with. A past that has haunted him for years. The narrator had me laughing in several places while she read the story.

A Kitten As a Reward

Audible Escape. Our hero is Payton’s brother. Our heroine is a strong lass that rules. Her daughter is a clever lass that knows how to bargain for a kitten. A little para normal added to spice up the tale.
I love Ms Dawes narrations of this series as her Scotts brogue is the best. Her male and children's voices are her best feature. I have no desire to hear any of the stories not narrated by her. I do use the 1.25x speed to match the adventure.
This author is great to expose bad behavior or vicious deeds. A whole garrison locked away.
Were my comments of help?

The Nerve of Some Men

Brett & Triona
I don't think I could have made it during medieval times. The nerve of men, to think that women were incapable of being Laird over a keep. Really who ran the darn thing to begin with! I mean the women probably knew more of what was going on than any man! Then the nerve of men to try and force women to marry them by insulting them and berating them. I just can't! I love Triona, she is such a strong and smart woman. I love how she taught her daughter and her people. I love that there are MacFingles in this story! This was a great story!
