About this listen

Moving from poison and treachery to war and witchcraft, Sam Hawke's Poison Wars continue with Hollow Empire, a fabulous epic-fantasy adventure perfect for fans of Robin Hobb, Naomi Novik, and Scott Lynch.

Poison was only the beginning.... The deadly siege of Silasta woke the ancient spirits, and now the city-state must find its place in this new world of magic. But people and politics are always treacherous, and it will take all of Jovan and Kalina’s skills as proofer and spy to save their country when witches and assassins turn their sights to domination.

if you liked the first book in the series, you'll love this one. I can't wait to reread this one years later to see if the author hints at the liers in the book now that I know who not to trust.

great stroy

Interesting characters, loved the world building from the first book and this one expanded on it a lot. Normally not a fan of books that have multiple narrators but this one worked! They both did really well and you can hear the emotions in their voices. My only complaint isn’t really about the book itself but that I couldn’t find a map of this world anywhere. So if that sort of thing bothers you keep that in mind

Liked the first book. Loved the second!

I’m hoping that there’s enough lgbtq integration into our culture now. I look forward to authentic writing again. The forced gay lesbian relationships and references truly ruin good storytelling. Writers including this one do NOT know how to write and incorporate these relationships and characters in their storylines. Sad really because it messes up an entire book. 😢

I hope things get better
