About this listen

“Best-selling author James Patterson populates his murder-mystery novels with cold-blooded killers and smart detectives” (USA Today). In Holmes is Missing, PI Brendan Holmes has committed the perfect crime—he’s made himself disappear.

Success has come quickly to Holmes, Marple & Poe Investigations. The New York City agency led by three detectives—Brendan Holmes, “the brain,” Margaret Marple, “the eyes,” and Auguste Poe, the “muscle”—with famous names and mysterious pasts is one major case away from cementing its professional reputation.

But as a series of child abductions tests the PIs’ legendary skills, the cerebral Holmes’s absence leaves a gaping hole in the agency roster.

Only by closing ranks and solving the mystery within can they recover all that’s been lost.

Holmes, Marple, & Poe - Volume 2

The second volume in this entertaining series. (Now oddly renamed Holmes, MARGARET & Poe) The detectives are up against the kidnapping of several newborn children out of a hospital maternity ward. This quickly escalate into more child kidnappings on an international scale. While dealing with that, Holmes is back, but not himself, and not as confident as before. Poe and Helene get life-changing news that rocks them to their very cores. Margaret tries to hold it all together with her usual panache, mostly quite successfully. Oh, and there is also a very successful serial killer who has taken an interest in the three of them.

Anxiously awaiting book 3. Recommended

Disappointed

I loved the first Holmes, Marple and Poe book and I was looking forward to a continuation of the story. The uniqueness of the trios relationship and detective skills was non-existent in this one. Gray being determined to find out who they were, what their past exploits were and what they were up to now is missing. Instead a mundane stereotypical and completely predictable detective story that was a real letdown. I even checked to see if it was the same ghost writer. It was.

Fantastic storytelling!

The narrator’s voice pulls you in and takes you on a wonderful journey. The story itself is elevated by the continuing character development of Poe, Marple, & Holmes! Loved every minute of it.

Perfect twisted storyline

Once again the storyline in this series kept me on the edge of my seat, sp to speak, from bringing to end! I can't wait for the next book.
