About this listen

Capture his heart.
Steal his crown.
Free my kingdom.

Noor is the unwanted, unloved third born of the Aten, chosen vessel of the sun goddess, Sol. While she has no chance at inheriting her father’s title, what she truly longs for is peace from his unrelenting hatred. Hope builds that she may finally be able to claim that reprieve when a missive arrives from the House of the Moon.

The new Lumin, chosen of the moon god, Lumos, seeks to broker peace with the Kingdom of Helios for the first time in ages. He envisions open trade routes and an end to archaic rivalries. His dedication to this cause extends to visions of a union between the two families by marrying one of Aten’s daughters, if one of the matches is a fit.

Driven by his own twisted agenda, Noor’s father is willing to sacrifice his daughters as pawns to steal the crown for him to further his despotic reign. But Noor has other ideas. For whomever wears the crown of moonlight, holds the power of the moon itself. With such strength at her command, she could finally defeat her tyrannical father.

Yet this endeavor cannot be accomplished without great sacrifice. As Noor learns more about Lumin Caelum, guilt over her betrayal consumes her, burning hot as the sun itself. If only he wasn’t kind, and selfless, and exactly what she wanted. If only she had greater dominion over her heart....

Can Noor carry out her plan and end her father’s vile reign? Or will unlikely alliances allow a new day to dawn?

House of Eclipses is a Young Adult fantasy romance perfect for fans of We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal, House of Salt & Sorrows by Erin A. Craig, and Danielle Jensen's The Bridge Kingdom.

5+++ Stars

I don't know how anyone gave this lesson than 5 stars, unless they were expecting some cliche sex-fest with no substance like so many other books. If you're someone who likes a good story with gods who act like gods and not teenagers, give this a try and you'll be glad you did.

Captivating & Dramatic

Note: This Review contains NO spoilers

A beautiful and captivating story filled with mythical intrigue and drama. And, the romance is swoon-worthy. As a first time reader of Casey L. Bond's books, I was completely immersed into this complex world of Noor and Caelum and their journey. With compelling characters and alluring world building, House of Eclipses kept my full attention from beginning to end.

As for voice performance, Amanda Billings delivered an exceptionally poignant narration of the this story. Her performance created the mystical and dramatic atmosphere of the story which whisked me away into Casey's fascinating world of the House of Eclipses.

After listening to this, I must dive into the next and final book in this duology, House of Wolves. I would say, in my opinion, that fans of fantasy and mythology would enjoy this.

Good overall

The world building was entertaining. I liked hearing about the two different peoples, their beliefs/culture surrounding their gods and the lore surrounding what happened to keep Helios light and hot and Lumos (sp) dark and cool/stormy. The romance was cheesy but I liked that it wasn’t overwhelming either, especially since this is a YA book. It may have been more interesting if there were more tension with the plot and vying for the Lumin. Seems like the MC doesn’t have to work hard for what she gets, it just happens for her and everyone she interacts with likes her. Even still, she seems very insecure/needing validation constantly. It might have been better if Citlali wasn’t one-dimensional and actually had some attributes that would make their competition actually competitive.
Aside from that, the narrator did a great job keeping me listening. May buy the sequel.

Love this story!

Oh my gosh! I knew I'd love this book, but I wasn't planning on loving it this much! I can't find the right words... but I'm working on it. I'm so glad this will be a duology because I will never be tired of this world 💕

Such amazing world building! And the characters are wonderful. Even the not so wonderful characters *cough* Citali *cough*, add elements to the story that make this book unputdownable. Noor serves the Sun goddess, Sol. Her father, the Aten, hates her with a passion and does everything he can to get rid of her. He attempts to set up a marriage between Noor and his enemy, the Lumin who serves Lumos, the moon. He tells her she must steal his crown so that he can have the ultimate power. But Noor knows she will never give him that crown. She will keep it to gain freedom from him. How many hearts is she willing to break to get away from her father? Is she willing to break her own heart?

Oh my goodness….loved it

Loved the narration

As for the overall storyline, I wish I’d gotten to this book sooner. It’s packed honor, devotion, sacrifice, betrayal, secrets, love, and so much more.

I’m starting book2 immediately.
