The world’s greatest bodybuilder. The world’s highest-paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident. Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

Questioning thousands of parents and educators, Dr. Wayne Dyer learned firsthand what people really want for their children. They don't particularly want their kids to go to fancy schools, acquire riches, or live "the good life". They do want them to have personal integrity and high self-esteem, and to grow up with love and peace in their hearts. Children raised the Wayne Dyer way feel useful and needed. They are inner- rather than outer-directed. They live a stress-free life naturally, without resorting to drugs.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

In this audiobook I have attempted to outline some of the things you must know if you are going to get along in our ever-changing world. This knowledge is not the sort of knowledge you have been taught in school - but it is just as true and just as vital to you as a multiplication table or your ABCs. But one thing you must remember. While others can tell you how to do these things, only one person in the world can ever really make you do them - and that person is you.

Learn the best time to do everything - from drink your coffee to have sex, or go for a run - according to your body's chronotype. Most advice centers on what to do, or how to do it, and ignores the when of success. But exciting new research proves there is a right time to do just about everything, based on our biology and hormones. As Dr. Michael Breus proves in The Power of When, working with your body's inner clock for maximum health, happiness, and productivity is easy, exciting, and fun.

Story
Memories are the cornerstones of our identity, shaping who we are, how we act, and how we feel. In his work as a happiness researcher, Meik Wiking has learned that people are happier if they hold a positive, nostalgic view of the past. But how do we make and keep the memories that bring us lasting joy? The Art of Making Memories examines how mental images are made, stored, and recalled in our brains, as well as the "art of letting go" - why we tend to forget certain moments to make room for deeper, more meaningful ones.

Allright
A lot of (well done, bit outdate maybe, but enjoyable because of that) storytelling. Insight are ok, but could be summed up in a much briefer and straight to the point way that I find more useful.

Another Great Work of Carnegie's
So many of his concepts are critical to today's best business practices. It's ironic how fundamental principles are often overlooked with today's bells and whistles.

Inspiration at its best
When I purchased this, I didn't realize it was taken from two other books. However, I'm glad I bought it since it reminds me of the highlights of the other two. How to Win Friends and Influence People and How to Stop Worrying and Start Living. I did get more out of his stories with this than I had in re-listening... I guess the brain likes to mix things up.
The audio quality was great.
And it's funny how similar the problems were then that we are facing now: lack of jobs, fear, wanting to build true relationships.
I'd recommend if you're looking to do some introspection and wanting to better your life through your connections.

Beware of duplicate content!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Having new material that is not exactly copied from another book.
Would you ever listen to anything by Dale Carnegie again?
Not if it is copied and pasted content from another book.
How could the performance have been better?
Actually having new content and ideas versus copying the exact stories from "How to Win Friends and Influence People".
What character would you cut from How to Enjoy Your Life and Your Job?
All characters from the other book.
Any additional comments?
I would like a refund so I can get a book I have not already paid for.

just a repeat
It should be clearer that this is a repeat of his previous books. If you have How to Win Friends and Influence People and How to stop Worrying, then you have this book. Such a disappointment. Wish I could get my money back.

No longer relevant.
Although some of the ideas is this book have psychological merit, the segments were obviously written before the age of technology that we are in now. No one has the ability to simply clean off their desk at the end of the day, or to do one task at a time with nothing else on their agenda. Those days are gone. Survival now depends on multi-tasking and the 8-hour work day no longer exists. Totally outdated. Save your money.
