About this listen

"I am in awe of her talent."— Julia Quinn

In USA Today bestselling author Julie Anne Long’s thrilling new romance in the Palace of Rogues series, an infamous privateer’s limits are put to the test when he’s trapped during a raging tempest with a prickly female at the Grand Palace on the Thames.

He clawed his way up from the gutters of St. Giles to the top of a shadowy empire. Feared and fearsome, battered and brilliant, nothing shocks Lorcan St. Leger—not even the discovery of an aristocratic woman escaping out a window near the London docks on the eve of the storm of the decade. They find shelter at a boarding house called the Grand Palace on the Thames—only to find greater dangers await inside.

Desperate, destitute, and jilted, Lady Daphne Worth knows the clock is ticking on her last chance to save herself and her family: an offer of a loveless marriage. But while the storm rages and roads flood, she and the rogue who rescued her must pose as husband and wife in order to share the only available suite.

Crackling enmity gives way to incendiary desire—and certain heartbreak: Lorcan is everything she never dreamed she’d wanted, but he can never be what she needs. But risk is child’s play to St. Leger. And if the stakes are a lifetime of loving and being loved by Daphne, he’ll move any mountain, confront any old nemesis, to turn “never” into forever.

Loved the new couple

I have really enjoyed all of the Palace of Rogues series. It is like returning to a comfortable hide-a-way and meeting new couples as they find their loves. I have one more story to go. It will be sad leaving the GPBTT!

Pure romance

Most of the past characters that have stayed at TGPOTT appear and it is fun! Lorcan and Daphne slowly burn for each other behind their pretend marriage.
I don’t care for Justine Eyre certain things about her voice make me cringe but not totally ruin listening.

Scrumptious and lovely.

Julie Anne Long write love with such depth, imagery and figurative language that it stirs the soul. Reading her work is like savoring fine art and fin chocolates.

Overall, Good

I was excepting more in the story as a friend of mine had an arc told me it was a favorite. While I enjoyed the romance, I was bored in the middle of the story, which made me somewhat disappointed in it. I would still recommend How to Tame a Wild Rogue as the romance was solid as was the character growth.

Laugh Out Loud entertainment

Ms. Long continues to keep this series alive with joyful themes that all center around the Grand Palace On The Thames; and the owners/servants that live there permanently. The series has lulls from one book to another, but it is easy to catch up on previous occupants and themes as you listen. I do get a little tired of the reference to the name of the boarding house, but it is not a big deal. I do like that each of the permanent characters continue to carry presence in each story.
In this particular story of Taming a Wild Rogue, both the H/H were believable and likeable and all of the main characters had a past that was connected to life before the GPOTT. Ms. Long had me laughing out loud with tears in a couple of segments and crying in others. As always, there is sexual tension and sex but it does not dominate the story.
I also want to congratulate Justine Eyre, she does a marvelous job with all of the character voices and intoning the right amount of verve. She can be an acquired taste, but I find that if she is narrating a book I am more inclined to give said book more consideration when purchasing.
Ms. Long has a great talent for weaving a story that flows forward, has great language and is not redundant. I can't wait to see what next unfolds in this enjoyable series.

How to Tame a Wild Rogue.

This was such a sweet love story, but very exciting as well. The ebb and flow of the relationship in the story were great. It kept things exciting without introducing unnecessary drama. I love this writer and the narrator.

Lorcan!!! 😍

A moving, steamy, and entrancing romance, featuring two vulnerable souls hungry for love and a sense of belonging. This story will linger in your heart and memory long after you’ve devoured it. This is my favorite of the series. it's wonderfully performed by Justine Eyre.

Where do I find a Lorcan St. Leger? OMG! Some of his lines are exquisitely romantic that I suggest you keep your smelling salts with you. I LOVED IT!

A favorite in the series

I was deeply moved after reading this book, that i downloaded the audiobook so i can re-read while attempting to be productive! The author skillfully evoked laughter and tears, creating an emotional experience unmatched by any other book I've read this year.
Julie Anne Long's artistry as a writer is truly commendable. Right from the first chapter, I found myself utterly engrossed in her exquisite prose, which effortlessly transported me into the captivating world of The Grand Palace of the Thames. I will be surprised if you’re not in love with Lorcan by the end.
Justin Eyre was splendid, as usual!

THE very best of the series. Each character superb

J.A.L. tells an interesting story, her characters are colorful, each different, lots of romance, wit and humor.
The narration is great, love listening to Justine Eyre, who changes her voice and accent so convincingly.
The story is Romantic and full of charm. Fell quite in love with the masculine, intense and sensitive, full of feeling, Lorcan St Leger. Love to find one of those. Lucky Daphne, she deserves all that love! The added scenes of Delilah's and Angelique's marriages adds much flavor to the book.
Great book. Very much awaiting the two additional books.

This was the last book I had e listened to in this series. Series started off well and just became drawn out and boring. This book was hard to finish.
