About this listen
If you wish to discover a stunning sense of happiness and well-being, then this audiobook is for you.
The audiobook includes two manuscripts:
- Hygge: Unlock the Danish Art of Coziness and Happiness
- Lagom: What You Need to Know About the Swedish Art of Living a Balanced Life
Cravings for comfort, coziness, contentment - everyone experiences the desire for a happier, less stressful, and more serene life.
Hygge, the Danish-born philosophy, is one proven way to achieve such a life. From the Old Norse for “well-being”, hygge embodies a philosophy that is as much a mind-set as it is a way of life.
Specific activities are designed to encourage you to cultivate togetherness and joy at the smallest and simplest things in everyday life.
Some of the topics covered in Hygge include:
- A thorough grounding in the Danish art of hygge, the lifestyle equivalent of embracing a hug from the inside out
- Steps to foster a sense of cozy happiness throughout the year, with simple ideas for each season and holiday
- Ways to do all the above, surrounded by family and friends - the hallmark of a happy life
- The fundamental understanding of where true happiness comes from and how you can embark on your journey to joy today
- And much, much more!
Lagom is a Swedish idea of “just enough”. You learn how to live your life with not too little, but not too much either. This is the key to true success and happiness, and we are going to explore exactly how to make this happen in this guidebook.
Some of the topics covered in Lagom include:
- Definition of lagom and why is it important?
- Some of the benefits that come with using lagom
- Steps to implement lagom into your home and your work life
- Ways you can add lagom to your holiday celebration
- Ways you can use lagom to help you save money and work on improving your finances
- And much, much more!

Story
Memories are the cornerstones of our identity, shaping who we are, how we act, and how we feel. In his work as a happiness researcher, Meik Wiking has learned that people are happier if they hold a positive, nostalgic view of the past. But how do we make and keep the memories that bring us lasting joy? The Art of Making Memories examines how mental images are made, stored, and recalled in our brains, as well as the "art of letting go" - why we tend to forget certain moments to make room for deeper, more meaningful ones.

Fantastic
This book made me want to pack up and move to Denmark with my family and whatever I can fit in my suitcase! I live in America and this makes it slightly more difficult to adhere to a very Hygge lifestyle. Fitting in aspects of hygge and lagom into our life is bringing great happiness already.

Good Topic but Big Miss on Naration
Book written by woman and in informal style. Male narrator and stiff style totally not aligned with hygge feel. Reading felt like an instructional seminar which distracred greatly from the interesting content.
