Publisher's summary

With all of the modern conveniences that we have today, a lot of women are not willing to go through the natural process of giving birth as there are alternatives to it. Hypnobirthing: An Introductory Guide is a reminder that the process of natural childbirth can be extremely rewarding and that it does not have to be a stressful, heartrending experience. As more and more persons are taking things back to basics, hypnobirthing is making a comeback. It has become the way the many mothers want to bring their young one into the world. However, due to power of marketing and mass media, there are few over complicated and dry' approaches getting the attention of modern women. Author of this book, based on her experience and work with pregnant women, comes with this easy to understand and practical for application guide that covers practically all important topics about hypnobirthing. Naturally, it takes certain amount of pre-preparation but, at the end of it all, it is a wonderful experience not meant to be complicated in anyway. Line that presents this work in full is probably something that women who learn from Ashley, often use to say: "Ah, If I just met with HypnoBirthing approach before. I always had impression it is so much more complicated....."

If nothing else, this book will help you to very clearly understand what HypnoBirthing is all about and how to use it - based on that you will find the answers and know is HypnoBirthing technique right for you, or not.

Literally just an explanation of what hypnobirthing is

Don't buy this book, you can just go to the hypnobirthing website to find out what hypnobirthing is. This is literally an introduction, which you should know if you've done general research on the Internet.

This is not the book.

I paid money for this and it had no actual information on birthing. It just explains that hypnobirthing is statistically a good option. I feel deceived and ripped off.

Good intro if you're looking into hypnobirthing.

If you could sum up HypnoBirthing: An Introductory Guide in three words, what would they be?

Goes over the history & ideas of hypnobirthing without giving away what's in the classes or books that you'd learn from if you want to practice it.

What other book might you compare HypnoBirthing: An Introductory Guide to and why?

Hypnobirthing by Marie Mongan

Any additional comments?

After listening to this I decided to take hypnobirthing classes and have read Marie Mongan's book. If you are interested in having a calm, joyful birth (might be hard to imagine at first, I know!), I recommend looking into hypnobirthing. The method incorporates a very positive outlook and has helped me shift my perspective.
Also - not just for 'natural' birth mamas -- hypno is open to all ways of delivery.
