About this listen

A TikTok sensation! Sparks fly when a competitive figure skater and hockey team captain are forced to share a rink.

Anastasia Allen has worked her entire life for a shot at Team USA. It looks like everything is going according to plan when she gets a full scholarship to the University of California, Maple Hills and lands a place on their competitive figure skating team.

Nothing will stand in her way, not even the captain of the hockey team, Nate Hawkins.

Nate’s focus as team captain is on keeping his team on the ice. Which is tricky when a facilities mishap means they are forced to share a rink with the figure skating team—including Anastasia, who clearly can’t stand him.

But when Anastasia’s skating partner faces an uncertain future, she may have to look to Nate to take her shot.

Sparks fly, but Anastasia isn’t worried . . . because she could never like a hockey player, right?©2022 Hannah Grace (P)2022 Simon & Schuster Audio

swooning

this book is graphic but it's fantastic. could not stop listening. I loved the voice actors and I loved the length. I could not get enough of these two together.

Nice, easy listen - strong and confident female character

Nice and easy read. Not too spicy. Basically a love story. Nice to have the FMC be strong and not too much of a pushover. Goes where you expect.

cute. too long

This book was sweet, funny and super hot! I liked that she was the grampie one and he was the sunshine – I haven't read many books where this trope appears in reverse. 💪
Also, it's not a heavy book, but still deals with important topics like body image and eating disorders, depression and toxic relationships. 🤍

It was definitely fun, but I could have enjoyed it a lot more if it hadn't been so damn long!!!!!! 🙈
There were so many parts where nothing happened, and the plot just dragged on. Plus, Nate must have a split personality… this is the only thing that can explain the inconsistency in his behavior and talking – when he's outside the bedroom (sweet and thoughtful) and inside the bedroom (dominant and dirty). It felt like two different characters to me (something that also happened in 'The Love Hypothesis', but that book had only one spicy scene…) 😬
But mainly, it had way too many secondary characters! (I realize that the author is planning a basis for a very long series, but lady, we don't need to know everyone in the first book!) 🙈

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it – I was even surprised to find out that it was Grace's first book… but I probably came to it with too high expectations (DAMN YOU, BOOKTOK!) 😂
So if you liked Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series, this should be your next book! 🤍🤍🤍

Love this couple!

I love the story for two reasons. One is the fact that Anastasia and Nate’s relationship isn’t perfect and two all of the side characters make the other moments so funny. I was smiling and laughing throughout the whole book. There were so many subtle comments and remarks by all the characters that made the book even more entertaining. I don’t think a lot of people will like the ending with the epilogue, but I found it sweet. I think a lot of girls can relate to how Stassi was feeling with having her career and her boyfriend at two opposite ends, struggling to prioritise both parts of her life. Overall love the story and loved all the characters.

spice level 5/5

I really liked the story, the characters created by the author are very engaging. The performance is very pleasing to the ears.

Love

I know it’s only a book but sometimes I also want this kind of love story and passion and relationship and drama. I loved it. I smiled a lot listening to it. In the beginning I didn’t like the male voice talking for Anastasia, but then I guess I got used to it.

just, no

I did not enjoy this book for two main reasons:
1. there was no plot. It just felt like nothing happened. There was no drama no yearning, it just felt like I was reading about some college cupel getting together. (Don't get me wrong, I hate the miscommunication trope, and I have no issues with it not being here, but at least the books with miscommunication have a freaking plot) I didn't connect to any of the characters. and on top of that, it simultaneously felt like it was moving really fast and moving really slow.
2. I HATE THE MAIN CHARACTER. She is so full of herself and so annoying; she thinks everybody owes her something like she's queen or some shit. (and while we are at it, all the other characters are boring as hell)

Annoying main female character

Story is not that good. The main female character is annoying so you cannot get attached to her.
The audio performance is confusing sometimes you get lost between all the characters
