About this listen

Revenge is best served cold, but Weston is smoking hot!

Bullies never get what’s coming to them.

Instead, they lead charmed lives while their victims continue to spiral into an anxious ball of junk food and wine-fueled self-care.

No? Just me?

Probably because I had to move back to my small hometown, broke and reeking of failure.

The only consolation of working for free at my Gran’s failing restaurant? Weston freaking Svensson, with whom I’d had a reputation ruining encounter with in high school, wasn’t in town.

That is, until he walks into the restaurant, arm in arm with the high school mean girl, and destroys my safe space.

No, I didn’t put poison in their food - I am a jam maker, and food is sacred.

But I did plot the most epic plan of revenge. I needed to get one over on the biggest baddest high school bully and prove that I wasn’t the awkward pushover anymore, just like Weston wasn’t the obnoxious teenager anymore. Now, he was a powerful billionaire.

Though he’s taller, sexier, bigger, I need to stay on my guard. I know men like Weston don’t really change.

Or did he?

Sex is part of the plan to ruin his life like he ruined mine.

But what if I’m the one who gets caught in the trap?

This stand-alone, full-length romantic comedy has no cliff-hangers, but does have a swoon-worthy HEA! It features plenty of steam, the largest selection of hot brothers to ever grace your ears, and a heroine totally committed to her revenge plan - even if it means sleeping with the enemy!

In Her Jam Jar

Alina Jacobs has another winner with this book that brings her trademark humor, unique characters, and romance. It has been a lot of fun following along with the Svensson Brothers series and seeing each of them get an HEA.

Zoe and Weston may be my favorite characters in the series so far. Their story is told from both their POV, so I really got to know and understand who they are and what their motivations were.

There are some over-the-top moments and many that made me laugh. I really enjoyed the story and seeing how their feelings evolved.

I read the book the first time and really enjoyed getting to listen to the audiobook this time and hear the characters and story brought to life.

High school sucks. Move on and be happy!

I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. There were things that irritated me and made me want to smack people upside their heads. I'm a firm believer in cutting toxic people out of your life especially if they are family. It was so hard hearing the way Zoe's family treated her and she just took it. I really wanted more of a comeuppance for Zoe's parents and her sister. Her grandmother had me torn though. On one hand, I could understand her wanting to help her granddaughters but on the other hand, you have to take care of yourself too and she didn't do that with Zoe's sister. Really, I felt that it was kind of ballsy for her to ask for money for the adoption when she was such a big shot with 2 homes. (Sorry, mini-rant over!)
Weston was lovable, protective, and determined. Zoe was stressed, caring, and a hard worker. Zoe and Weston needed more communication. Zoe needed to decide what she wanted from Weston and then stick with it even with her friends. I liked her friends, but I also felt that they were rather pushy. My favorite parts of the story were when Zoe and Weston were alone together or when they were with his brothers. Weston's apology was amazing but I did feel that he took it a bit over the top. I loved their happy ever after, but I wanted more because I'm greedy. I recommend reading this book.
I also recommend listening to the audiobook. I felt like I connected with the characters more while listening to the narrators bring the story to life. The narrators were very talented and I enjoyed them immensely.

So Hot, (So Hot) Sticky Sweet

Zoe, our intrepid heroine, has a LOT to deal with. Lost job in Manhattan, living in her grandmother's laundry room (on a cot no less) and trying to turn around the failing restaurant her Gram owns; as well as put up with her terribly selfish family who does not respect boundaries. I mean really, what's a girl to do when her high school ex-one-time-lover waltzes into the restaurant with your old nemesis/bully? Take on a revenge plot naturally.
Zoe, encouraged by her two high school friends, mounts a revenge plot worthy of a Hollywood block-buster turned upside down. Their plot includes hair removal cream in bath products, spam call blow-out, stolen groceries, notes left on cars, oh yeah, and have the porn-star like sex with him so he craves you and then drop kick him to the curb so he regrets all of his life choices as he grieves the loss of good loving. Yeah, this wasn't the best thought out plan. We all know that revenge gets complicated when feelings come to play. And not hate...no the other one, you know? Love. Yep. That's what he said.
And then there are the Svennson brothers. All. Of. Them. Converging on the Harrogate estate because there is yet another problem with dear old dad. This time he's sending out brothers younger and younger. Triplets barely out of diapers, now lost somewhere. They have to find these brothers and finally stop Leif once and for all.
Complications of a cataclysmic order happens when nemesis, Sharla, brings Weston and Zoe's love affair to a stumbling end with her lies and stretching the truth to fit her own ends. But what wasn't expected was the complication of Zoe's sister's adoption crisis crossing over into the Svennson's lost brothers drama. But oh what a tangled web Ms. Jacobs weaves for her dear readers. The drama leaves us all wondering how will true love prevail?
The Svennson boys have plans. They always work out, unless you are Hunter, but that's another story (which we are thrilled about), and after a round-about sojourn in the city, Weston and Zoe triumph!
This story was delightful! It possessed humor (over the top in the best ways), sexy octogenarians (who give unsolicited advice-all-the-time), kooky townsfolk (who really, really like festivals), loads of testosterone (too many Svennsons to count at this point), yummy-sweet jam, jelly, and sauce innuendos, and true love prevailing (the best revenge is living your best life after all).
On a side note, I loved how much we got to see Hunter and Meg in this book, which sets us right up for their stellar story released in 2021. I also loved meeting Crawford, a Boston Svennson, I hope we get a story arc there soon. And let's not forget the hated Seattle Svennsons, they deserve their own series as well. Ms. Jacobs has her work cut out for her and I can't wait.

Billionaire, revenge, 2nd chance, small town

Billionaire, revenge, 2nd chance, small town w/off the wall characters, slapstick comedy rom com and hot amazing spice!

This is a series of brothers from a LARGE family where each book a brother will get their HEA.

I love this type of book. No angst, comedy, hot billionaires with hot spice thrown in. Nice and light. Is it for everyone? No. But it is my cup of hot chocolate. I don't want to be sad or anxious with the books I read.

I listened to the audiobook of this, and loved it! I think that hearing the voices gives you so much more as a reader. You really can feel the emotions. You connect much quicker to the characters as well. These narrators were top notch.

This is not the first book in the series, but it can be read as a complete stand-alone. However I think you will get more out of it if you have read the other books as you have met some of the characters before. But don’t let that deter you. This can be a stand-alone. But it will make you want to read all the other books!

Ummm,

While this book is considered a stand alone, I think you really needed some background information. Devon Grace is new to me and I really liked her voice. Troy Duran was great, as usual but even with that it took me awhile to connect with the story.
