About this listen

In Dianne Duvall's world of Immortal Guardians, the stakes for mortals are high, but the cost - especially to the heart - might be higher....

It's not the first time Immortal Guardian Richart d'Alençon has saved a human life from eternal damnation. Usually, he moves on, a nameless savior like a ghost in the night. But this time he can't seem to forget the woman who rewarded him with a sensuous kiss after he rescued her from a trio of vampires. While Richart knows that loving a human can only bring trouble, the taste of forbidden lust is too great to resist....

Jenna never imagined she'd end up a single mom working overtime to put her son through school. But she might have daydreamed once that a devastatingly gorgeous Frenchman would sweep her off her feet. Now that a package of tall, dark, and handsome seems intent on doing just that, doctors are telling her she may not have long to live. But Richart is telling her just the opposite. All she has to do is abandon her humanity....

Contains mature themes.

Narrator a Huge Fail

The story was great! I loved it. I honestly thought it was narrated by an AI though because of the lack of accents and emotion. Just a terrible narrator and I hope she doesn’t do any more IG books because I can’t put myself through this emotionless reading of what should be a passionate story.

Good but not great

This book was good but not great. It doesn't really continue the story line and the narrator isn't the same. That said, it's still a good book that's interesting and keeps you wanting to continue. it's a much quicker read than other books in this series but still solid.

Narrator

Didn’t not like this narrator. Nothing like prior immortal guardians books - narrator of this book was awful

Apologies Narrator just No

The interweaving of the novella spanning 2 books is TOO COOL! I hesitated in the buy and after 20 minutes wanted to return ... because the narrator did not have the voice, accents, nor the emotion that I am use to in the series. Good Story.... just try to get past the narrator.

I Love Richart

I loved this novella. Usually the novellas are not really good but i devoured this one.

This Short story follows Richart D Alencon and Jenna a Single mom trying to put her son through college. Their story was the closest to a normal courtship we have seen so far. if you read Phantom Shadows (book 3) you already know some of the most notable points in their relationship.

it was a cute story Richart was taken with her the moment that he saved her. and fell more and more the longer he knew her.

Jenna was unique as a FMC. 1 she's the oldest human female we have seem yet at 47 and she has a son who is in college. besides Rolland she is the only other person who has children.

I will continue to mention and applaud Dianne Duvall for doing such a phenomenal job with this series. usually stand alone series have me bored. you never see past characters and the outline of the story is usually copy and paste. that is not the case here. All the characters are unique and the over arching plot keeps you engaged.

Love this author, narrator not so much.

As always, Dianne Duvall is a phenomenal writer and storyteller. A twin finds his forever love, what can be any better than that? Richart and Jenna's story is adorable and cute, just the right amount of angst to keep the reader/ listener in the author's clutches. While this story is short, be sure to know there is more about these two, as well as the other characters as the series continues, plus many new and exciting adventures await!
The only downfall I had was the narrator. While she is decent in other books, she lacked so much for what this series has to offer and maybe should've done a little more research on name pronunciations, other characters accents, and tone of voice. It would've been best if the publishing house collaborated with the author on her style of a narrator, because let's just say it, when a series is all constructed with one narrator in mind, it disappoints the listeners to hear someone else quash a fantastic book.

Filled in the story line, but narration not as good

Was glad to fill in the gap between book 3 and 4, but the different narration was distracting.
