About this listen

Best friends forever. Just friends…forever. That’s the only possibility she’s ever considered, the reality they’ve accepted, and a relationship that’s allowed them to thrive. Through distance and tragedy, grief, and insecurities, their friendship has been the one constant they could rely on. Each other. They’ve grown; they’ve changed; they’ve… transformed. So maybe their relationship should, too.

I loved the story and performance by the narrators but wish the characters would have got to develop a little more.

Thoroughly enjoyed 💛

Really good story. I struggled with listening to the female narrator, way too monotone. No excitement when needed. Her voice was nice just boring.

loved the story

I love all CCJ's books. I especially love any story set in The Heights! Winston and Nidra did an excellent job with narration! I hope to hear more books narrated by them.

Another Hit for CCJ!

The plot was alright, but the narrators didn't quite resonate with me. However I would recommend this book for your reading pleasure.

It was decent book.

The story picks up from one of the characters in the series one. It was a great follow up because book one was not spoiling the character story in book two. The Romance story was wonderfully written, and not overly done. I really like her over and it was, it was I still watching a really good movie that didn’t get mushy at the end.

Great pick up

Christina’s words follow so well together and it simply makes you fall deeper in love with reading. I love that there weren’t any difficult situations within the relationship. Just pure love.

Beautifully done.

Slow getting started just hearing the female voice, kinda boring but once the male voice was introduced made it better

Good Story

I loved, loved, loved Brittany! Her mouth was so reckless and she had absolutely no problem using it. Anybody could get it! She was reading folks left and right in this book. Brittany and Raf are sooooooooo swoon worthy! I adored them as a couple. They had such a beautiful friendship and their chemistry was hot. Brittany and Raf have some struggles along their journey to love. Raf is keeping secrets and dealing with family drama. Brittany has Vitiligo so, her insecurities are at an all time high. She let this skin condition hold her hostage in The Heights damn near since she was diagnosed with it. She refuses to leave her bubble (The Heights) because, she doesn't like people looking at her. I loved the scene with Brittany and the little girl she meets in Sugar Valley when she finally has an epiphany. That was such an endearing moment between the two of them. I just hate it took Brittany so long to finally embrace her condition and stop being so afraid of what people think when they see her. The interview Raf did with Wil felt so real. That particular scene really puts CCJ's writing skills on display. In Tandem was intense at times but, still a wonderful read. The struggle of identity issues and insecurities was heartbreaking to watch these characters deal with but, they were also very relatable real life issues. This is the friends to lovers romance you'll want to read.

First time with the female narrator and I really enjoyed her. Both were great and bringing the story to life. Having read the book already I knew I liked these characters but revisiting this story and all the lessons CCJ captured was a real treat.
