Long before they were spirit animals, the four were still legends - Great Beasts, the most powerful beings to roam the wilds of Erdas. Aided by a brave resistance of humans and animals, they gave their lives to protect the world from a threat more dangerous than any it had seen before: their own kind. Wise and cunning, gentle and ruthless, these are tales of the true heroes and villains in the war that started it all.

Story
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks.... But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth....

Aided by a brave resistance of humans and animals, they gave their lives to protect the world from a threat more dangerous than any it had seen before: their own kind. Wise and cunning, gentle and ruthless, these are tales of the true heroes and villains in the war that started it all.

As a child I missed out...
On such a great story! I recall wanting to read Warriors but as I got older, my eye sight had gotten increasingly worse. Now I can hardly focus my eyes on one sentence, forget having to read a paragraph multiple times to understand what I read! I'm so happy that Audible finally released a audiobook of this series! I found this book charming, witty, and very emotional for a story about cat clans. I was surprised to find that the book was actually quite violent and dark, not too much though. I also enjoyed the narrator's take on the voices he was depicting. I know some didn't like Greypaw's lisp but I found it rather endearing and gave him personality. I didn't find it annoying at all but to each their own. I definitely recommend reading this book. I've been suggesting it to everyone. The best I can describe it is that it's the Secret of Nimh or Watership Down of cats!

Entertaining
You gotta love a story about cats. This one did not disappoint at the end. The middle got bogged down with what often felt like a blow by blow description of boot camp, but the charm of the story moved it forward and left me with a hero I will want to read about again. I look forward to reading more books in this series. If you liked the Redwall series I suspect you will like this too. Happy reading.

good book, a bit violent for kids
my daughter loves the warrior cats so I gave it a listen. a good read with great messages of loyalty and family, but a bit more graphic then I was expecting with cats regularly killing other cats in gorey detail.

Loved this book!
Into the Wild I have all of the printed books of this series, save one. They are some of my very favorite stories. I am getting them in Audible a few at a time due to the vision problems that I am having now. I am going blind in one eye. It is nice to know that I will not have to give up any of my favorite stories. The story itself.... Some parts of it will have you gripping your seat unless you like super Gory Horror stories. This is not one of them. But it is interesting enough to keep you wanting to come back for more. The series has the same qualities throughout all of the sets of stories. They start with Fireheart joining the Thunderclan, & continue on until his life is ended. Lots of adventures, intrigues, & loves along the way. Please give it a try. You won't regret it!
