I love mythology. Irish mythology is an area I don’t come across often so this was a great brief overview of the 4 cycles of Irish mythology, the important players, a few of the actual myths and legends and even included how some of the characters rom these myths and legends are included in popular culture of today via books, movies, etc. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

If you like Irish Mythology, you will love this book! It covers all the major details of the Irish mythos and it is an easy read/listen. I have always had an intense interest in Irish Mythology and this book covers it all! It is very much a survey of the gods, rather than a deep in depth look at everything, but I really liked that. It gave me everything I wanted to know, and a bit more, and it was easily digested. Some mythology books can be so boring and dull and this is definitely NOT one of those. I highly recommend it for anyone that enjoys history and/or just wants to brush up on their Irish mythology knowledge.

Wonderful Irish Mythology Book!

This was interesting and really nice to get an insight into the old irish beliefs. I kinda also feel like I understand why Irish culture is the way it is. Loved it. Once again Jack McArthur was brilliant with his narration.

An interesting look at the old Irish gods

Irish Mythology was an interesting book. It looked at the history of the Irish gods and evaluated their sources as well as telling the stories of the gods and heroes and kings of those legends. It was a bit hard to follow in audiobook format, unfortunately. This is possibly because many of the names were unfamiliar to me. There was some resemblance to the Greek and Roman god and hero stories, but no clear overlap. It also didn't read like a children's book, although it was advertised that way. There was too much build-up and background to the stories and not enough story. When the stories finally started (maybe 2/3 of the book), they were interesting. I would recommend having some basic knowledge of Irish mythology before reading this.

I received a free copy of the audiobook and have reviewed it willingly.
