About this listen

"Hello, white-hair."

When someone calls out to Bell with these words, he discovers that the voice belongs to a girl who introduces herself as Lilly. Somewhat goaded into teaming up with her despite the many doubts running through his head, Bell has a successful turn in the dungeon with his new companion.

Though their alliance is short-lived, the negative rumors swirling about the guild to which Lilly belongs, the Soma Familia, are anything but. Later Bell is confronted by the tales of a mysterious sacred wine said to steal the hearts of all who drink it, and—?!

Great story. It gives a lot more back story to characters that don't get one in the anime, I like it. Bryson narration throughout the book was on point but I feel like Shelly's pacing was a bit off on the first 3/4 of the book. I feel that the last quarter of the book was the best one narration wise. If they can keep that level of quality for the next volume, it'll be amazing.

Great Follow Up to the First Volume

Two amazing voice actors but they take turns reading, giving each character two voices. There are way too many characters in this series for this work. I imagine it was quicker and easier to produce this way, but it's worse than if they only had one person reading. Still a great series though.

Weird production

please have the 2 narrators voice the correct parts Male characters voice by themale narrator and female characters voiced by the female narrator and the perspectives of said characters would increase the quality of the next audiobook. the story was great for volume 2 can't wait for the next one but the narrators did a great job just the roles made some parts had less impact then it would be originally

For the next audiobook...

Not as long or as in depth as the first book, but still solid overall. Plenty of fleshing out other characters.

Short book

Bell is such a pathetic character it’s hard to stomach I stopped for a while came back and still couldn’t finish I just can’t see myself or put myself in this character shoes or listen to him anymore it’s just sad

Meh

after listening to first two books I am looking forward to hearing the complete set. only issue I have is the female narrator makes bell seem like a dumb chad character. When bell is really a naive kind hearted young adventure. it only issue I have with the audiobook otherwise I would recommend it.

great story but feels like female narrative makes bell feel like a dumb chad

The anime was good, the light novel from what I have listened to gives a more detailed experience of the characters.

Great light novel

The make performer reads the entire passage of it's in first person; the female if third person. Neither of them are good at doing characters of the opposite gender. Some of the deliveries from the woman seem like she's phoning it in (characters might be pouring their hearts out but she reads like they're having water-cooler chat).

They also tend to make every monster (even ants) sound the same with a "gwarrgh". I feel like even if it's written that way, it sounds really strange.

A great story but a terrible performance
