About this listen

Summoned to another world to slay the mighty beast . . . of governance! (And soon to be an anime!)

When Kazuya Souma is unexpectedly transported to another world, he knows the people expect a hero. But Souma's idea of heroism is more practical than most—he wants to rebuild the flagging economy of the new land he's found himself in! Betrothed to the princess and abruptly planted on the throne, this realist hero must gather talented people to help him get the country back on its feet—not through war, or adventure, but with administrative reform!

Great Charactors and Great Story

I thought that the story and Characters were really great and fun, and I felt that the narrator was really good. I could feel the emotions from the Characters.

back ground noise

it sounds like he's chewing gum and it's hard to get past it. I love the anime but it's need a female reader to do all the other characters cuz his girl voice is horrendous. At least he a good job on the guys.

Would benefit from 2 narrators

Story was enjoyable and the narrator was good. However, when he narrated female character dialogue. It was at best, slightly jarring and at worst, immersion breaking.

A good start

Overall a good story about economic and infrastructure reform.

There is a flaw in the narration. At points the story will switch perspective between paragraphs. A larger cast of voices or a second narrator would help. Both would be preferable.

The use of background sounds or music could help at points, but this is not that big of a production.

Some cultural elements like polygamy and slavery are mentioned in the story.

Overall better than most, but there are a few better in production quality. The Story is almost its own category of light novel. It avoids man pit falls of the Modern Isakie.

worth the credit.

a slow paced isekai slice of life that draws readers in, with references to some of the great works on power dynamics such as the prince, and the art of war. it's got a slow roll harem romance in the works, but i expect in line with most light novel romances it won't be explicit in the details in further books when the relationships advance. the cool headed analytical mc does this story well, as it lets him use the knoledge from the advanced civilization of earth well in his new home. i'm waiting for the next release, and hope the quality doesn't change.

love the Simplicity and how will paste the VA is very calming very soothing

occasionally the VA sounds a bit funky but both the story and the VA are top quality they're only minor things the pronunciation of two names bug me a little bit but otherwise really good and it's a basic story but

love the anime love this book

it goes through a lot of the anime in a single book which is surprising because the anime is pretty long but apparently it is only the tip of the iceberg I wish they would have gone into more detail in the anime. also he mispronounces the princess's name and he mispronounces Roroa's name in later books, he's not very good with curtain words he says then very oddly. I don't like how he does female voices especially Kaede Foxia he's clearly doing something weird with his mouth I don't understand how he'd thought that'd be a good idea

Not blaming the VA, but it's a bad depiction of the characters.

I'm not sure if there's a director who tells the VA how to do the voices or if it's up to their discretion, but more than 75% of the cast is portrayed either very off or just down right horribly. This came out after the anime so they could have easily used that as reference, just saying. All the characters sound easily sound 2x their age and are often given accents for no reason (I'm looking at Juna in particular). Many of the problems probably could've been resolved with 2 VA's (male and female) as the VA could've used a more broad range for the male cast. Instead Soma sounds like he's in his 40's because he has to use "younger" sounding voices for the female cast. I'm a little ticked I used all my credits on 5 volumes of this series but that's my fault I guess. From 6 on tho I'm just buying the Kindle version and using the assistive reader, I genuinely think it'd be a better experience.

You're not missing anything if you've watched the

Anime

I'm 2 books in and with the exception of a few bits that are NOT story breaking or world breaking you can safely skip the book or anime for the other.

I watched the anime when it was a first run and it was good, but after 2 books it's a waste, there's really nothing here that wasn't in the show that's important. This ain't like hollywood movies that are drastically different than the book.

Anyway, I won't be getting any more of the books, and I won't refund the 2 I have. I'll just watch the anime and be content because so far the books really don't offer anything better or more.
