About this listen

Dale Wilkinson, life of the morning coffee crew, tells tales. Mostly about dear old Doris, his wife. But one day shortly after entertaining his mates, he reveals to his best friend, Frank, that Doris had passed away.

Or at least that's what it seemed like he said. Dale himself seems to be swimming right past this fact. Befuddled, Frank goes about some light reconnaissance and works the mystery out with his wife, Molly, over casseroles and conversation at their long-since-quieted family table. In the course of sorting out this mystery they rekindle the spark that time had faded.

The whole thing seems to have old friends circling one another trying to parse out all that isn't being said. Until the truth comes out and the world turns upside down.

Please turn this into a novel!

I loved how the author gradually pulled the audience into the story. I was surprised to discover who had really passed away. I want this short story to evolve into a novel. I enjoyed the glimpses into the couple’s marriage and their deep love for each other as they are.
