About this listen

Everyone thinks my husband is dead. Just like we planned…

Eleven years ago, my husband disappeared. Eleven long hard years I waited, my heart breaking for our son, who didn’t know his father was coming back.

Today, my hands shake as I try to understand what I’ve just learned: my husband has a new wife. This wasn’t part of our plan.

Eleven years ago, my husband made a terrible mistake. I sacrificed everything to help him fix it. But now he’s put our son and me in danger again.

We had a plan. He broke the rules. But who will pay the price?

Lazy ending

The whole plot had to be explained in a “here’s what really happened “ narrative by the characters at the end.

I love KL Slater books, but this was not her best book.

This book was not a page turner like many of KL Slater’s books. The plot was a bit confusing. But I still enjoyed the book in the end.

It was GREAT!!

The audiobook version of The Married Man brings this gripping story to life with exceptional narration that perfectly captures the tension and emotional depth of the novel. The narrator does a brilliant job of distinguishing between characters, using subtle vocal changes and pacing to reflect their personalities and emotions. This makes it easy to follow the shifts in perspective and adds a layer of immersion that enhances the storytelling.

The suspenseful tone of the novel is amplified by the narrator’s delivery. Moments of quiet reflection feel intimate and raw, while the more intense scenes are delivered with just the right amount of urgency, keeping listeners on the edge of their seats.

The audiobook also excels in pacing. The narrator’s timing allows the twists and turns of the plot to unfold naturally, letting the suspense build to its explosive climax. Whether it’s the chilling revelations or the poignant moments of vulnerability, every scene feels vivid and impactful.

Listening to The Married Man is a thoroughly engaging experience, perfect for fans of psychological thrillers who want to dive into the story during their commute or downtime. The audiobook transforms an already compelling novel into an unforgettable listening journey. Highly recommended!

Engaging and full of plot twist

A missing husband, an angry teen, a woman full of secrets and a suspicious wife all have one thing in common, an 11 year old secret. This book is full of so many twist and turns, it has you so engrossed and not wanting to put it down.

Suspenseful, twisty & turny

Although I struggled a bit in the beginning, trying to keep up with the introduction of characters, I was eventually able to settle into the story and enjoy it. I never figured out what really happened on my own. Instead, I had to wait until the end of the book, which is a plus for me.

Interesting storyline

I advise the reader to remember what character is who, at the beginning of reading!

Lots of characters

It got difficult for me to keep track of so many characters across two different time lines. Plus, there may have been just too many twists…hard to put it all together. Overall, it was a good read,
