About this listen

Tis the season for secrets and suspicion.

A chilling psychological thriller with a twist that you won't see coming, narrated by Billie Piper and Avita Jay. This Audible Original, by #1 bestselling author Kathryn Croft, is perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Sarah A Denzil and K L Slater.

When Sasha receives a call from her old university friend Gabby inviting her to spend Christmas at Gabby’s remote Scottish lake house, Sasha knows she shouldn’t go.

Twelve years ago, on Christmas Eve, when Sasha and her five closest friends were celebrating the festive season, something truly horrific happened that would change the course of their friendship forever. Something that meant Sasha hasn’t spoken to any of them since that night.

But Gabby is insistent that they all get together this Christmas, to finally help her move on from the events of that night, so Sasha agrees to go.

Arriving at the sprawling house overlooking a stunning loch, Sasha quickly realises that Gabby has other reasons for getting the six friends together this Christmas. And now Sasha is forced to relive a past she’s tried hard to forget.

People had always told them their friendship wasn’t healthy. That the six of them spent far too much time together. No good would come of it, they said. How could relationships with others work when the six of them were so tightly interwoven?

When a snowstorm isolates them from the outside world, old flames are rekindled and tensions run high, and it soon becomes obvious: nothing that big can stay secret forever.

The messiest Christmas party!

This was so good to be honest. It wasn’t fast moving at first but picked up about halfway through and turned into such a messy group of suspects!! Ahhh finished it in two days time lol.

Predictable

The details weren’t predictable but the killer was. I knew who it was early on but I stuck it out. The details made me giggle a few times only because it was so wild.

Great narrator!

Really liked the story and the turns and the back and forth between past and present! But the narrator! Wow. Amazing. It’s a really good listen! I listen to the entire thing while getting everything ready for Thanksgiving!

Couldn’t put it down

Great story. As it is told from the perspective of a rather messed up woman you don’t know who is good or evil as she has a terrible judgement of character.

Well written with an easy to guess storyline

I enjoyed the audio book. However, this was easily a very predictable book for a mystery thriller. I wish there was more of a twist at the end.

a great Christmas thriller

This is a short read/listen and so good. Gabby throws a party to reunite the same group of friends that attended her last Christmas party 12 years before. It was the same day her 10 year old sister went missing. She knows one of them is responsible and she wants to figure out who. this was such a thrilling adventure, so many little twists and turns. I highly recommend this.

Not a heartwarming Christmas Story

It was well performed yet the story didn’t compare with the narration. It was entertaining enough for an Audible Plus free audiobook. The characters and story line were written from a young persons point of view and some of timeline stuff made me question the technology and the details. I must say my age sometimes hinder my ability to enjoy frivolous entertainment,

Phenomenal performance

The voice acting is top notch. Fast paced. Decent story. Had little to do with Christmas however.

Well done all around! Great suspense and character development.

Nothing to dislike, other than I wish it was a longer story because I enjoyed it so much!

Performance was solid.

The performance of this was solid. The story was a twist and mystery novels. However, I knew who it was when the writer didn’t focus on a particular character. It was almost obvious. This said I enjoyed the listen.
