About this listen

It was supposed to be just a one-night stand.

After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, 25-year-old Jill Corrigan takes herself off the romantic market. Not wanting to become a burden to a potential partner, she focuses on her career as an actress instead.

On the set of a disaster movie, she meets stunt woman Kristine “Crash” Patterson, whose easy smile instantly makes Jill wish things were different. Meanwhile, Crash is trained to fall, but she didn’t count on falling in love.

Despite their growing feelings for each other, Jill resolves to let Crash into her bed, but not her heart.

As they start to play with fire on and off camera, will they really be able to keep things just physical?

A steamy trist evolves when two lovers, who have everything to lose, have everything to gain in each other!

At first glance, these two Hollywood star-crossed lovers appear at opposite ends of the healthy spectrum; yet both risk their bodies in pursuit of their career goals. While the reasons are different, there are plenty of reasons why a love interest would look elsewhere! The less obvious reason being that Crash puts her life on the line and may not come home at all if a dangerous movie stunt goes wrong and her occupation has a fairly short shelf life. Despite that, I can envision these characters having really fascinating lives as they grow older and doing some amazing things! I LOVE this story because nothing is guaranteed in life and making the most of here and now is important! I LOVE this story because the endless parade of perfect body types that litters much of sapphic romance is unrealistic. Everyone has to adapt to physical challenges sooner or later. Seeing these two characters deal with their fears and doubts and work through them is not only uplifting but damn HOT! Let’s just say JAE didn't skimp on the spicy chemistry between these leading ladies. Carpet dulcem fructum vitae! Highly recommend!

Take a leap of faith... give love a chance

Yes, take a leap of faith, Jill. My heart goes out to her having to suffer from a chronic autoimmune disease at young age. Also, the attraction between her and Crash is so intense that I literally wanted to scream “why won't you take a chance?!”
Although, I have notice that is a recurrent theme in Jae's novels. Her characters always seem to run away from love instead of embracing it outright. I’m not saying I do not sympathise with them, nor am I perturbed by the realisation, but at the same time it's like what are you afraid of? Love is not always easy to find. Sometimes you just have to take chance.
Despite Jill’s illness she’s so afraid of her condition and becoming a burden that she is ignoring the fact that there's someone whom is eager to have relationship with her!  To make it one step easier, Crash joined support group for caregivers of Jill’s disease.  Praise God that she had the courage to do that and still want to stay around.
Whilst Jill is concerned of her future here’s Crash constantly essentially saying “do not let this disease scare you away from how I feel about you,  I'm not going anywhere despite your MS”. Jill is so distressed over her possible debilitating future she's missing out on someone whom brings joy to her life; someone who understands her, empathise, sees the woman past the disease. Leaving it as only a physical relationship was not enough.  Sometimes fear is a good thing, it means that you have something worth losing.

Stunt Woman

I'm so so so in love with all The Hollywood lady characters. Jae is one fantastic writer. She knocked this series out of the park. Thank you...

This book is under rated!

I am so very happy I made my decision to purchase this book based on my confidence in the authors consistency in writing a good story. The reviews on Audible were underwhelming and downright insulting to the narrator! But let me assure you, this book was worth it! Jae AND Abigail Rakocy both put out a fantastic product! The storyline was great and another piece in the puzzle of the series and Rakocy did not deserve the nasty comments. This is a great listen and well worth the time and money!

Excellent story, narrator not so much

I really enjoyed this book by Jae. I have read it myself a couple of times and I thought I would try the audible. Unfortunately I didn't love the narrator. However, I was able to finish and that's a testament to Jae's talent. So I highly recommend this book in print and audible (but listen to the sample first)

Story good narrator not for me

I enjoyed the story, but not the narration. Voices were too similar and I just didn’t like the voice it was distracting enough to take away from the story. I had the same problem with the book Falling Hard. Don’t think I will be able to tolerate Damage Control I will just have to read it. Please switch up narrator.

Save me from this narrator!

I have dealt with a number of narrators that I just had to tolerate in order to finish a book.... However, I have never ssuccumbed to such levels of anger and reresentment toward a narrator, as I did this one, for literally RUINING an otherwise good story.

As a professional with MS, I was very invested in a story unveiling some of the fears and stuggles of trying to succeed in life when an invisible monster keeps gunning for you. So, the narration literally offended me because I knew it was going to greatly impact others being able to even finish the book.

Aaargh.... Jae, what were you thinking approving this type of depiction by the narrator of your characters?? I was planning to purchase the previous book, Damage Control, but see it's the same narrator... Aaarghh... Sigh

Hollywood romance with a dose of seriousness…

Actress Jill Corrigan was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and fearing the deterioration she might face, decides romance is permanently off the table for her. This is a Hollywood romance between Jill and a stuntwoman named Kristine aka “Crash”, but it also gave informative background on MS and some of the symptoms those living with MS deal with.
As the title suggests, Jill wants her relationship with Crash to be “just physical” with no strings attached and certainly no long-term promises. This was definitely much more steamy than you usually see in a book by Jae but you won’t hear any complaints from me. I thought it was awesome.
