About this listen

Carlita and Mercedes Garlucci have settled into their new life in Savannah and are eager to get their rental units occupied as well as their other businesses up and running - but the local permit officials are dragging their feet with delay after delay.

When Mercedes decides to help move things along by organizing a protest for justice in front of the local government offices, things go from bad to worse as one by one, all of the protesters become targets of vandals.

After the vandals ramp up the attacks, the mother and daughter duo vow to fight back despite having their hands full with an obnoxious tenant who could quite possibly cause Carlita to commit a crime of her own!

Will they discover who are behind the attacks and stop them before someone gets hurt, or will their dreams in Savannah become the stuff nightmares are made of?

Justice in Savannah?

I enjoyed this book as I have the two before it. I don’t really consider it a murder mystery as much as a “getting to know the characters better” mystery. The narration can be a little sing songy at times but I quickly get passed it.

New mystery, business challenges

Now Carlita and Mercedes Garlucci starting to rent their properties and going for a pan shop license. They just did not realize that it is not that easy to be businesspersons. However, they are up for the challenge. In addition, there is another mystery on their way to success, and waiting to find out who is a bad person is very exciting.

The narration was done great, I like the main characters Italian accents the most.

At last different characters and a real plot line

The characters are interesting. The story moves along very well.
Actually, this was a wonderful series. My husband and I kept waiting for #4 to see what happened.
This was the best acted out, it was so easy to know who was talking! It even had the humor with
the upstairs move in character, so interesting! I did feel like bopping her at one point, but I don't really
get physical.
We are so disappointed that it is not continued in audio

Another great story in this series!

I loved this series. It was a fast-paced, cute, entertaining story. Of course, as I've said in my previous reviews for this series, I've listened to the audiobook versions and love Valerie Gilbert. She's a great narrator!

I did have two questions though:

1. Prior to Elvira getting the approval to move in, how was she able to get the power and water put in her name? Especially without having a copy of the rental agreement for the power/water companies which you typically need?

2. I never understood why Carlita thought the little girl (forgot her name) screaming the one night was that big of a deal? The first question that seemed to pop into her head had her wondering if the child was being abused by her mother.

Other than that, I can't wait to listen to book 4. :D

Good series

I enjoyed listening to the first 3 books in this series. I found the characters to be delightful and quirky. I hope the rest of this series will be available in audio soon. In the mean time I will read the next book instead of listening to it.

Awesome!

I received a free copy of Justice in Savannah: Made in Savannah Cozy Mysteries Series, Volume 3 written by Hope Callaghan, and narrated by Valerie Gilbert in exchange for an unbiased review. This review copy Audio Book was provided by the author/narrator/publisher free of charge via Audio Book Boom.

I finished Justice in Savannah to find out there's no volume 4 yet in audio. What will I do? The stories are just so refreshing, and fun. I'm enjoying how the characters are developing and coming together with each book, and I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series.

Valerie Gilbert does a wonderful job narrating, and switching between voices.

Mystery in Savannah

After listening to the previous stories, I had to listen to this one too and find out what the mother - daughter duo are up to next. Entertaining, hilarious at times, and quite suspenseful , this new story is really good.
Ms. Gilbert is consistent across the 3 books with the voices she gave the characters and I love how she does the various accents and the various characters' temperaments are clearly defined.

Decent mystery series

Hope Callaghan has written a decent mystery, average at best. What makes this book and series worth the listen/read is the well crafted and likable characters. There is plenty of humor to add to this enjoyable series. Valerie Gilbert gives a fine performance bringing it all to life.

Justice is Served

I just finished listening to Justice amin Savannah and I love it!!! Carlita and Mercede's have started to rent out apartments and one of the new tenants will definitely drive you up the wall. However we will have to put her, Elvira, on the back burner because Carlita is having a hard time getting her business license from the town. If that's not bad, everyone in the Square has been dealing with some form of vandalism.

Carlita and Mercedes will not stand for it, so with the help of her new found friends, they will sure get to the bottom of what's going on!!!

What I enjoyed about this book was the fact that it had NOTHING to do with a murder but another crime that is just as bad, but in a different way. As always Valarie did a great job but what I enjoyed most was the voice of a little girl that Valarie did. It was the cutest voice ever!!!!

Another great book by Hope Callaghan. I can't wait to hear more 😉.

A good read!

vandalism, cozy-mystery, friendship, audiobook

This is the first I've read by this author but it won't be the last! It comes across as small town or cohesive neighborhood working together to help new neighbors against local bureaucracy. Then the vandalism begins and must be investigated and stopped. Good writing and engaging characters make this a 5 star read.
Valerie Gilbert really shines as narrator with her ability to make each character distinct and project the emotions.
