About this listen

"If you want us to remain silent - if you want to retain your freedom, your job, and your reputation - you need to tell us everything, and I mean everything...."

We last saw Eve and Villanelle in a spy-vs.-spy race around the world, crossing powerful criminal organizations and dangerous governments, each trying to come out on top. But they aren't finished yet.

In this sequel, Eve, the former MI6 operative and the novel's heroine, reveals a new side to her strengths, while coming ever closer to a confrontation with Villanelle, the evasive and skilled assassin Eve is hunting.

Killing Eve is a high-stakes, thrilling follow-up to the newest voice in spy fiction for which the world has been dying. Jennings' deadly and sophisticated story will leave listeners eager to see what happens when these two powerful women come head-to-head.

Critic reviews

Shortlisted for the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award

"But it's all good, nasty fun for lovers of James Bond and Modesty Blaise--although Jennings is much more sexually explicit than Ian Fleming or Peter O'Donnell. This espionage romp keeps readers slightly off balance as it brilliantly walks the line between thriller and spoof--and readers will find the experience irresistible."—Shelf Awareness

"The obsessive relationship between the two women deepens. Nonstop action moves between London, Venice, Paris, Moscow, and the Swiss Alps, as the two women track each other, and amoral Villanelle continues her murderous ways. . . . Jennings provides plenty of spy craft and scenic and sensual atmosphere laced with betrayal in this adrenaline-fueled sequel to Killing Eve: Codename Villanelle, the book that spawned the BBC America series."—Booklist

"When Killing Eve crashed on our screens last year, it felt like a breath of fresh air: a feisty and funny entry in the recent revival of the staid, stuffy and overwhelmingly masculine spy genre. With a second season about to air in April and the coming release of the second book in Luke Jennings's Codename Villanelle series, it is clear Eve and Villanelle - the MI6 operative and the talented assassin she is tracking - will be with us a while longer."—Washington Post

Awesome book accompanied by an awesome narrator!

I am loving this series, and Lucy Paterson makes it even better! Lucy's accents and voices for each character makes listening to this series very enjoyable.

Good Follow-up

Having listened to and enjoyed the first four chapters of this series this was a book I looked forward to. Originally I wasn't a fan of the book, not sure if I'd made a wise decision. There are many of the same elements in this book that I previously enjoyed about this series. However this edition was longer than the first book, which was a compilation, those elements were fewer, further between, and submerged in way more mud than the earlier works. it moves slower and has details which seemed to have been added without literary purpose. I liked the ending but getting there was quite a journey, one that seemed to go on for longer than was necessary. I just listened to it again and found I liked it better this time around, definitely worth a listen.

Story getting good now

Ok, I have to admit I was having doubts. It didn’t seem to be going anywhere, Nico was annoying me, nothing was happening. Then shit happened. I won’t spoil anything but this was definitely worth the wait from the first book!

One of my Favorites on Audible!

I got into this writer's work after watching the stellar TV show "Killing Eve". What I really loved was that although the TV and book's main characters are very alike, the stories are different. The book isn't just a complex rehashed screenplay version of the show. You can read and watch both, and not be experiencing the same stories. Although the show borrows heavily from the books environment and main characters, many parts and stories about Villanelle and Eve are different. To be honest, some of the killings Villanelle carries out in the book, couldn't even be on TV. I was excited about how the characters seem so human; real, confused and conflicted about things they feel they have to do regardless of their feelings. The moral quandary for both the hero and villain, protagonist and antagonist, is fascinating. The narrator was perfect for the story. Her expression, variation and pacing of the storytelling and characters and moods made me feel it was really happening. I went through both audio books "Codename Villanelle" and "No Tomorrow" in less than a week! I often lose interest in a so-so book and never finish them, so this isn't typical for me. Dark, deep, character driven, gritty and engaging books and well worth the money. Hope we'll see more like this soon. I have read a lot of suspense, but there is something unique about the world Jennings creates that draws you into it and you don't want to leave. These are my favorite books I have bought from Audible!

Better than the series

Not sure how I would of felt about watching the show after reading this, as it differs from the show, but I love how I could enjoy the show without prejudice of knowing book plot and then be surprised by the book.

Exciting Suspenseful and mysterious

I got this book on a whim I thought I would try something different from my norm, I’m glad I did. There was plenty of action (for me), however, there was a point where I lost track of who was who and I had to rewind but once I fell in line the book took of again at a steady clip.

I really did enjoy listening to this book once I settled down and gave the book my undivided attention I was there with Eve and what I didn’t understand a situation when it happened it became clear to me later. Overall I really enjoyed this book and Lucy Paterson did an excellent job at narrating. The way she changed her voice to speak Russian like that was AMAZING! This was my first Luke Jennings book, I think I’ll try another one.
