About this listen

The fourth novel of the galaxy-spanning Sun Eater series merges the best of space opera and epic fantasy, as Hadrian Marlowe continues down a path that can only end in fire.

Hadrian Marlowe is trapped. For nearly a century, he has been a guest of the Emperor, forced into the role of advisor, a prisoner of his own legend. But the war is changing. Mankind is losing.

The Cielcin are spilling into human space from the fringes, picking their targets with cunning precision. The Great Prince Syriani Dorayaica is uniting their clans, forging them into an army and threat the likes of which mankind has never seen. And the Empire stands alone.

Now the Emperor has no choice but to give Hadrian Marlowe—once his favorite knight—one more impossible task: journey across the galaxy to the Lothrian Commonwealth and convince them to join the war. But not all is as it seems, and Hadrian's journey will take him far beyond the Empire, beyond the Commonwealth, impossibly deep behind enemy lines.

Another story to the spectacular epic scifi adventure of Hadrian Marlowe. His incredible downfall and rise from darkness. How solitude can brake a man and the enemy can form him to a new one. What will come out from his suffering? We will see next.

All hail the Halfmortal!

Didn’t think the story could get any more extraordinary but it did in an intriguing and complex way. Tons of action, artful depiction of futuristic war & the mind set behind it. Story highlights the beauty of human strength and the deep, unbreakable bonds that we establish with each other - I finished this in 2 weeks, could not stop.

Dark but still so good

Story:
It will blow your mind. The best book in the series so far. I literally couldn't put this book down.

Naration:
I generally hate when a narator changes between two books in the same series. The character voices always change, the name pronunciations change, and it always takes a few hours for my brain to adjust. That being said, adjusting to this narrtor change was easier than most.

This has become my favorite book series, and this book is the favorite one within it.
