About this listen

Former US Army pilot Lauren and Police Training Instructor Kim share a love of country, a sense of duty, and grief for a woman who left them too soon. That she was a friend to one and a lover to the other should at least give them something on which to build a friendship. But from the moment they met, they've been at odds.

When Lauren gets a job at the same police department as Kim, they are forced to at least fake professional respect. Eventually, respect and begrudging attraction turn to affection and then something deeper.

Great story and narration

I enjoyed this listen. The characters are very relatable, especially so if you ever served under DADT. Thanks for the insightful and pleasant story.

Powerful story

The characters Lauren and Kim were both strongly described, one as a powerful women and the other as an anxious injured individual. The fact that they were both known to each other prior to their being assigned together had an adverse effect on their relationship. Overall the story led to a wonderful conclusion and one that I found very fulfilling. Looking forward to reading more by this author

Worth Reading

I enjoyed this book, I am constantly reading lesbian novels, from romances to thrillers to erotica and after reading 2 really good thrillers back to back I wanted an easy read. this was light and cute and I enjoyed the build up of their courtship. Nice work and the narrator was great and her vocalizations for "Lauren" were very sexy. She just has the type of voice I love.

Great Listen!

I really enjoyed this story and the narration. I liked both independent women. You know how sometimes 1 of the lead characters you just like less than the other? That's not the case with landing zone. Both women are likable and when their occupations put them together It's fun to see how the relationship plays out. The basic story line was Years ago Lauren dated Courtney and they broke up and Courtney died in a helicopter crash. Lauren later Ends up working near Courtney's best friend Kim. Kim does not know her very well but she knows she broke her best friend's heart So she's very cautious with her in the beginning. But of course things heat up and they eventually fall in love.I also appreciated the fact that the story was complete. I've listened to some books lately where the ending was so abrupt. This one had a very well rounded story with a complete ending.

An okay quick listen nothing heavy

The narrator did a great job vocally and the content of the book was okay. The characters just didn’t feel fleshed out. The author briefly touched on personal characteristics and trauma just enough to have a character. If you’re looking for an easy “read” it won’t be bad. It just doesn’t capture the imagination. By the last three chapters I was pretty disinterested.

I love this book!!!

There is nothing not to love about it. No melodramatics, lots of "I need to hear that line again" moments, the characters were great, and the narrator was on POINT.

Good story and excellent narrator!

I enjoyed this book! The plot was interesting and the twists and turns were realistic. I could see this happening in real life very easily. Overall, good book and highly recommended!

Worth listening

The author has a strong narrative ability, has clearly either lived through or done thorough research on the military/police/helicopter background that gives this story richness, and has created believable, enjoyable and respectable characters. As a story about the aftermaths of DADT it is very good. As a romance, it's a bit meh. The relationship dynamics have no continuity behind them, and felt a bit like they were imposed from without, not flowing organically. Despite this problem, I found the book very satisfying.
