About this listen

Shirley Wallace and her four sons return to her childhood home on Pope Mountain in Jubilee, Kentucky, with a lifetime of hardship behind them, hoping to find peace and begin their lives anew. Eldest brother Aaron Pope returns to his life as a police officer and is settling in just fine. Then Aaron's investigation into an attempted murder leads him right to Dani Owens. She may hold the key to a long-lost part of the Pope family's past, and more importantly, she may hold the key to Aaron's heart.

This could be a Hallmark movie

The same plot as every Hallmark movie. The story is predictable but sweet. Everyone always lives happily ever after.

Should have been shorter

The crime story and subsequent investigation was very good. But the “Love Story” was unnecessarily long and involved. We get it - You loved each other move on.

So much Love

The love for family in this book was remarkable. It was sweet and charming with some interwoven stories tied in. I thought the narrator did an excellent job. There were so very many characters in this book and sometimes it was hard to keep up with them all. Also, there was so much repetition. I nearly gave it a four-star review, but by the end I had fallen in love with all of the characters and found myself in tears which meant it was a really good book.

Enjoyable story.

This was a good book to enjoy while laid up for a day. It shouldn’t be a five star review but definitely a 4.5. Kept my interest all the way through.

A bit like a Hallmark movie.

It was ok, truly. If you like some sappy romance with your mysteries then you’ll love it.
I would like to say that you need native accents when reading. This lady did a fine job, but her accent was wrong. That gives a narration a feeling of being fake.
At least to me.

Good Followup to the first boo

I enjoyed this book as it moved right along. I don't agree with some of the harsh reviews. The female main character was strong and brave. The story highlighted the damage done by domestic violence. The mystery of a long deceased relative was a nice spin to end the book. I will listen to more books by this author.

Story with interesting elements, but

The writing is so full of cliches and the same phrases to describe a situation repeated by different characters that it detracts from the story.

Interesting story

This was a good story and an interesting story. It wasn’t a page-turner or had any cliff-hangers but it was worth the read.
