Editorial reviews

Danny Cox writes and hosts this dynamic segment about leadership under pressure, first reflecting on his own experiences as a pilot in the United States army, and then recounting the many subsequent moments in which, by stepping up to the plate even when circumstances were stacked against him, he managed to move on up the food chain, eventually becoming Vice President of a major national sales company.

Cox is a lively and accessible speaker, with a boisterous and conversational style, sure to put listeners at ease from the start. Cox, who's unafraid to laugh a little at his own mistakes, presents compelling instructions on how to take bad situations and transform them into opportunities for growth and success.

Danny Cox WOW !!!!

What did you love best about Leadership When the Heat Is On?

Information worth 100 times the price! The information is immediately applicable to leaders at any level and with any amount of experience. Mr. Cox used real experiences to show us what to do...and what NOT to do...as a leader. Mid-book, I started applying some of his simple techniques and the level of respect I received out of my team members was remarkable. Nice job! I recommend it to everyone.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Leadership When the Heat Is On?

Several memorable moments. His story about George Foreman. His story about being part of a team that went into prisons to teach leadership skills. His 10 Characteristics of Great Leaders will stick with me forever. I shared his Declaration of Personal Responsibility with both of our college-aged children AND with my staff. Immediate difference in both! Amazing.

Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?

When he laughed at HIMSELF at the mistakes he had made and the lessons he had learned from those mistakes. He was speaking to any person who has ever taken on a leadership role. He was speaking to the next generation of leaders. Wonderful.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Every characteristic Mr. Cox described in his book is described in clear, immediately usable fashion and for that, every minute of the book will change your professional and personal life.

Any additional comments?

During my THIRD listen (of Leadership When The Heat Is On), I went to dannycox online and ordered two of his other books...both which arrived yesterday. I am already deep into There Are No Limits and it is timely and incredibly useful from the very start. Thank you Danny. Where have you been all my life ?!?!? I'd own this company by now if I had simply read your books three years ago!

So appropriate in today's business world.

One of the best "reads" ever. Danny delivers what is needed to become a leader, and what is needed to remain a leader in these evolving times.

Encouraging.

Maybe the most memorable for me was the story of George Foreman's nose being so stove up. Yet, because he wanted the titles so badly, and desired them so strongly, he didn't feel the pain to get his goals. I saw the price required to get my own goals.
