Publisher's summary

This audiobook reveals the glorious weaknesses of today's new breed of leader, as well as the Bible's most famous ones. It supplies practical direction to anyone who aspires to be a more effective leader, showing that a "limping" leader can be the person God uses to accomplish amazing things.

Loaded with good insight

I will be returning to this book. Lots of nuanced insight into leadership dynamics through a biblical paradigm that includes the leaders own sin and shortcomings.

Outstanding

This book points to Jesus and your relationship with him. It is not a how to book but rather an intimate look into the journey and story of a limping leader. It is an example of “in our weakness He makes us strong.” Thank you Dr. Dan Allender for the courage and trust in our Lord to sow a seed in readers/listeners like me.

A good friend and Pastor recommended this to me.

While trying to figure out what my path and purpose is, I was turned toward this book. Very good read, helps to start the process of de-forging the windshield pointed toward your future.

The Real Deal

This is the real deal on Christian leadership. Allender describes the ugly underbelly of leadership, not just platitudes and "how-to's".

Book was incredible!

Performance was great. I always love to hear an author read his own book. There is odd music placement in the middle of a chapter but I think that's because it's the abridged version.
Love the book, totally with it!

Solid challenging teaching

I felt discomfort and found myself telling others around me about what Allender presents. For me, this is the sign of a book with reading. I highly recommend it to all in leadership.

There was so much meat and truth in here, I read it twice! Buy it and play it out loud!

Not Sure if I Want to Lead

This book has given me such insight as to what a leader goes through. It is also show me what grief I've given leaders, as well as held them in a position in my mind they did not deserve.I know for sure that if the Lord wants me to lead, that he will have to make that clear. I have such a high respect for anyone who takes on leadership roles and hope that I can continue to do and remember the things in this book. Chapter 6 nailed me, I had no idea this was a fault of mine until I heard it explained. I now feel like I do understand how to consider other peoples ideas and form a group opinion. That's huge!

falling forward ... my take away!

I wouldn't say this book was life altering but there were certainly some amazing take aways!
1. view situations from another's perspective
2. we are the chiefest among sinners (and realize that our righteousness is as filthy rags!) until we can admit and come to terms that (even though) we do good, lead well, and fight hard... we still have our own set of hidden secrets and issues we don't want to SHOUT OUT!
3. falling forward .... we all fall .. but let's make sure we fall FORWARD
