About this listen

When the young, handsome Dannan MacKay comes to Tucker Mills to take over the practice of his uncle, Doc MacKay, he feels welcomed by the town, the church family, and his patients. Life seems complete.

It is only when Dannan has a chance encounter at the general store with a delightful woman that he thinks his life might be missing something. He allows himself to dream of love until he makes a startling discovery that changes everything. As Dannan works to quiet his heart, he pours his energy into his patients.

Then the steady rhythm of his new life is interrupted. A young cousin has been orphaned, and Dannan offers his home to the child. This act of kindness turns his thoughts to the child's need for a mother: yet the one woman Dannon is drawn to cannot be his.

Plot?

I held on until the end but had to repeat sections often and had a difficult time following the plot. There are a lot of characters introduced and it takes almost the entire book to start to understand why some of them are there.

First Audiobook Experience

I purchased an MP3 player and this audiobook to listen to when I walk to pass the time quickly. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the book is wonderful. Lori Wick is one of my very favorite Christian authors. I read the Bible and pray, but reading Christian authors is just another way to help me in my Christian walk, both figuratively and literally. I will be buying more audiobooks to take with me on the plane when I travel. They are very easy to download.

Excellent story.....

I loved this book! It was the 3rd in the Tucker Mills series and I loved the first 2, as well. Predictable, yes, but only in the way that I didn't have to worry about filthy language, or sex for the sake of a story line...both of which I find offensive! Barbara Rosenblat has a gift for voices and she makes a story come to life with that gift. I do look for books she narrates and will continue to do so. Lori Wick is also one of my favorite authors and will continue to look for her books as well.

ok

the book was ok but they definitely need a different reader. her constant slurping and swallowing into the mic are disturbing and very hard to hear throughout the book

A wearisome waste of time!

I purchased this book because the narrator was nominated for an award and I assumed the book was worthy of an award as well. How wrong I was! The narrator is interesting but incredibly over dramatic for such a dull, predictable book. In fact, it became wearisome listening when even the tiniest detail become a major, momentous event.
It would have been beneficial, also, if the synopsis of the book had mentioned that the book preached Christian doctrine. I don't enjoy being preached to, and some listeners may find this offensive, even from this simple book.
I skipped about 4 hours of this book and didn't miss a thing. In fact I wasted too much time listening to even my abrideged version. Don't waste your time!
