About this listen

Never mess with a woman with nothing left to lose.

Another state. Another city. Another dead-end job. A stellar FBI agent until tragedy set her adrift, Karen Pantelli finds herself working at a pizza joint in Billings, Montana, trying to ignore the increasing global unrest dominating the news, when three armed men walk through the door. Soon a shocking turn of events launches her on a cross-country quest for a former college classmate, an alluring but manipulative woman with just one goal in life: to marry rich. Very rich.

But what happens when this stunning beauty ensnares the richest, most powerful man of them all? He may have a singular ambition of his own...with lethal consequences for a world already in turmoil.

Not to be Missed!!!!

This series really should not be missed. If you like mysteries and suspense then you should check it out. Do not pass go or collect $200, stop and listen to this one. I wouldn’t RECOMMEND THIS BOOK SO HIGHLY if I didn’t think it was that good.
The protagonist is Karen Pantelli. She used to work for the FBI. After accidentally shooting a child she quit and became a drifter working menial jobs. The first book in this series is Throw Away Jane. That too is an Excellent Book and I suggest listening to that book as well. It is not necessary to listen to it first but it does give a little more background about Karen however this book can be listened to as a standalone.
This story opens with her working at a kids pizza joint. She’s offered a high paying job but turns it down because she has to sign an NDO. Later that same evening while secretly speaking to a young man in security from the same organization he is shot in his head. This spikes her interest. Now Karen is on a mission, she can’t let this man’s death go without being avenged. He was taking to her after all, so that makes her feel somewhat to blame.
This story ramps up into something huge that needs to be dealt with. Without some kind of intervention the death toll could be astronomical.
Jennifer Pickens does a wonderful job narrating.
My Very HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Very Lethal

Stories like this can be predictable sometimes, but Lethal Beauty was far from predictable. Pace was just right to keep you off balance enough not to see the next twist or turn coming, but easy enough to be aware if each character. Looking forward to more work from the author and narrator.
