About this listen

An American celebrity chef and an Italian chocolate maker cook up a magical recipe for true love.

In a tiny village in the hills of Tuscany is a statue of Cupid with the power to grant the deepest desires of the heart to all who ask. The village is home to single mother Valentina, who runs a struggling chocolate shop. All she's ever wanted was to fit in, determined to provide a quiet, normal life for herself and her daughter. She works hard to keep it together, asking for nothing...especially not Cupid's help. Not when that would mean admitting to herself and everyone else that her deepest desire is to find the love of a woman.

American celebrity chef Andie should be having the time of her culinary life while on a PR blitz in Tuscany. Instead, a tabloid scandal that threatens to destroy her career has her hiding in a remote hillside village. With nothing to do but worry and wait, she spends her time avoiding shame and infamy by flirting with a local chocolate maker who's as irresistible as the sweets she sells. She's shocked by the discovery that her heart longs for much more than a temporary distraction, but even if she can convince the reluctant Valentina to give her a chance, how can she balance a relationship in Italy with a career in the States?

When it comes to realizing the deepest desires of their hearts, it just might take an act of divine intervention for these two women to find their future together!

Letters to Cupid is the third book in the Americans Abroad series of stand alone romantic comedies. Don't miss Waltzing on the Danube and Holme for the Holidays!

Stephanie Murphy does a wonderful job narrating this fun little romance! MacLeod always writes well crafted stories with charming and engaging characters. Letters to Cupid is no different. This is a sweet love story that will leave you smiling. Valentina, a single mother who runs a family owned chocolate shop and Andie, a visiting American chef, have instant chemistry. Blossoming love between these two in the quaint little village in the hills of Tuscany should be nothing but candle light dinners and romantic walks under the stars, right? Wrong. Andie is only temporarily hiding out in the small town to avoid a scandal that is brewing in America and threatening to ruin her career. Andie sees Valentina as a temporary distraction during this exile. However, her plans of flirting and fun shift to longing as she starts to fall for the adorable chocolate maker. This would be wonderful if Valentina wasn't in denial about her attraction to women. Nonetheless, Andie tries to convince the reluctant Valentina to give her a chance. As Valentina begins to embrace the fact that her deepest desire is to share her love with Andie, she frets that her close knit family will never understand this love. What ensues is a madcap adventure that is pure fun.

The story was very cute, like a romantic comedy than you enjoy from the comfort of your own home. They meet, they click, they fall in love then a twist appears and all ends well.
If you like romantic plots, wonders of chocolate and rustic Italian atmosphere this book is for you. The author captured the life in a secluded Italian village very well. Timeless indeed!
Such a cute book. I recommend!

Letters to Cupid is a heartwarming romance, and exactly what I have come to expect from Miranda MacLeod.
Stephanie Murphy's narration complements MacLeod's sweet romances to perfection. Her voice and pacing are the whipped cream to MacLeod's hot cocoa.

My one complaint about this book is that, as a native, I found the stereotypes about Tuscany and Italians a bit much.
To the author's credit, though, those did not bother me beyond their initial appearance. The book was so much fun, and the characters so real and relatable, that I couldn't hold a grudge for presenting the setting as most readers would envision it.

Bonus points for the lack of miscommunication and other forms of relationship drama.

I would recommend this audiobook to anyone looking for a sweet, heartwarming romance listen.

Carefully woven together to form an outstanding feel-good rom-com. Yet again, the narrator added to the entertainment and emotion of the story. I loved every minute of it.

Una bellissima storia!

Sweet small town romance set in Italy, very little angst with lots of fun and fluff. Stephanie Murphy did a great job narrating.

Sweet Romance

The story is funny and captivating. However, the lack of changes in each character’s voice is a pain. Additionally, the cadence of the narrator leaves a lot to be desired. She’s not horrible but this story is probably not the one for her. She sounds very serious but not romantic.

Valentina lives in a Tuscany village with her daughter, mother and grandmother. They run a chocolate shop that sits in font of a Cupid fountain that grants wishes of those who seek their love. Andie, an American celebrity chef, comes to spend three months while writing her next cookbook. Can magic be real? A great author and narration.
