About this listen

Micah will freely admit she's a compulsive liar, but that may be the one honest thing she'll ever tell you. Over the years she's fooled everyone: her classmates, her teachers, even her parents. And she's always managed to stay one step ahead of her lies. That is, until her boyfriend dies under brutal circumstances and her dishonesty begins to catch up with her. But is it possible to tell the truth when lying comes as easily as breathing?

Taking listeners deep into the psyche of a young woman who will say just about anything to convince them - and herself - that she's finally come clean, Liar is a bone-chilling thriller that will have listeners seesawing between truths and lies right up to the end. Tiring story, listened to 2/3 of it and gave up. Unreliable narrator makes it impossible to get involved with the main character. She keeps repeating "but this time I'm telling the truth," which makes it even harder for the reader to believe it.

Unreliable narrator

Not what I expected and that is probably what I liked most. The plot was well thought out and fabulously put together. It was full of twists and turns and totally had me going.

The narrator was subpar but I got over it.

Refreshing

I did not enjoy this book I'm mad that I wasted a credit on purchasing this book. It was boring and uninteresting I actually was unable to finish this book cause I felt like the story line was just to much with no real direction behind it. It was like to much unnecessary information added for no reason for instance I was completely confused what nationality/ethnicity/race the main character was. She said so many backgrounds that at one point I was like is she lying is this part of her constant lies and then I was like but what the hell does it have to do with anything!? Do not waste your time with this book unless you like to be tortured.

Did not like this book at ALL

I was so hopeful for this book as I found another book by this author amazing - but this was a disaster. The narrator was awful and did nothing for the story often pausing in off places and adding Inflections to the wrong words that changed the meaning of the entire phrase. - such a disappointment

Great book beautifully performed. Weird twist but stick with it, it'll convince you.

CW transphobia (hurtful ignorance, mostly)

Awesome

I thought there was too much cursing in this book for it to be a book for teens.
